Itinerary: Irkutsk – the Krestovskiy Cape – the Sagan Zaba Cape – Aya Bay – Aya cave – the Anga valley – the Tazheranskaya steppe – the Small Sea Gulf – Ogoy Island – Olkhon Island – the Khoboy Cape – Uzury weather station – the Holy Nose peninsula – Kurbulik fisherman village – the Barguzin valley – Umkhey mountain resort – Ulan-Ude – Ivolginskiy Datsan (Buddhist temple) – Irkutsk
Day 1. Irkutsk – the Krestovskiy Cape – the Sagan-Zaba Cape
Arrival to Irkutsk. Meeting at the airport of Irkutsk. Breakfast in the café.
Transfer to the Krestovskiy Cape. Check into the guesthouse. Lunch.
Walking on the ice around the Krestovskiy Cape and visit the Sagan-Zaba Cape. You will see the ancient paints on the marble cliff of the Sagan-Zaba Cape.
Dinner at the guesthouse.
Day 2. The Krestovskiy Cape – Aya Bay – Aya cave – the Krestovskiy Cape
Breakfast at the guesthouse.
One day travel on the ice along the west shore of Lake Baikal to the Aya Bay and Aya cave.
During the day you will see the amazing ice and rocky shores of Lake Baikal and visit Aya cave. Aya means “nice” and “beautiful” from the Evenk language.
Back to the Krestovskiy Cape. Free time to walk around, feel the beats of Lake Baikal and make pictures.
Dinner at the guesthouse. Banya (Russian sauna).
Day 3. The Krestovskiy Cape – the Anga valley – the Tazheranskaya steppe – the Small Sea Strait – Ogoy Island – Olkhon Island (Khuzhir village)
Breakfast at the guesthouse.
At the beginning of the day, we will drive on the ice to the estuary of the Anga river and get to the Tazheranskaya steppe. The age of the steppe is over 300 hundred million years old and it is really beautiful and photogenic.
In the afternoon we will visit Ogoy Island and cross the Small Sea Strait to Olkhon Island.
Ogoy Island is the only place where you can see the Buddhist stupa on Olkhon region. It was built in 2005 by Tibetan monks.
Arrival to Khuzhir village on Olkhon Island in the evening. Check-in.
Dinner at the hotel.
Day 4. Khuzhir village – the Khoboy Cape – Uzury weather station – the Holy Nose Peninsula – Kurbulik fisherman village
Early breakfast at the hotel.
Today we will drive on the ice quite a long distance. We will drive through the Small Sea Strait to the northern extremity of Olkhon Island, visit Uzury weather station on the East shore of Olkhon and cross Lake Baikal in its widest place.
At the end of the day, we will get Kurbulik fisherman village on the Holy Nose Peninsula.
Check into the guesthouse.
Banya (Russian sauna). Dinner at the guesthouse.
Day 5. The Barguzin valley – Barguzin Buddhist temple – Umkhey mountain resort
One day travel through the Barguzin valley. The Valley of river Barguzin is a really wonderful place. It is surrounded by the Barguzin and Ikatskiy ridges. There is the Buddhist temple in the center of the valley with a nice eco-path through the forest up to mountains. We recommend you to walk on the path to breathe the fresh mountain air and to feel the calm of this place.
In the afternoon we will reach Umkhey mountain resort which is located at the foot of the Barguzin ridge at the end of the Barguzin valley.
There are 146 mineral springs, one bath and a small lake with hot water at the territory of the resort.
Check into the house of the resort. Dinner at the café of Umkhey mountain resort.
Day 6. Umkhey mountain resort – Ulan-Ude
Explore the springs till the afternoon.
Transfer to Ulan-Ude town. It is the capital of Buryatia republic.
Check-in. Walk around the center of Ulan-Ude. Dinner at the restaurant.
Day 7. Ulan-Ude – Ivolginskiy Datsan (Buddhist temple) – the East shore of Lake Baikal – Irkutsk
At the beginning of the day, we will visit Tarbagatay village to get acquainted with the culture of Russian old believers (the Semeyskie).
Transfer to Irkutsk along the East shore of Lake Baikal.
Arrival to Irkutsk at night. Check-in.
The cost of the tour 2020:
1200 Euro per person for a group of 2-3 people in any other dates;
950 Euro per person for a group of 4 and more people in any dates.
