Uzbekistan Botany Tour , 10 Days

The Republic of Uzbekistan rich native flora. The territory belongs to the Irano-ian region in the Ancient Mediterranean floristic sub-kingdom of Holarctic. The flora of Uzbekistan accounts over 4300 species of vascular plants including large numbers of endemic species, but the check-list is still incomplete. Presented here ten new records to the flora of Uzbekistan, were found during the field studies and examination of herbarium collections preserved at TASH.

 

1-Day  Arrive Tashkent – plant hunt

On arrival in Tashkent you will be met by your local English speaking guide and private transport and start your tour. We immediately head outside Tashkent to start our plant hunt.  We will be driven to the outskirts and start our plant hunt with the Sanganak, Yengiabad and Parkent areas.

2-Day  Tashkent – Chimgan       

Today we have further exploration outside Tashkent in the area of Chimgan.

3-Day  Chatkal Nature Reserve     

We depart for Chatkal Nature Reserve for plant hunting.

Bashkizilsay Valley on border of Chaktal nature Reserve, Sangirsay or Sangiret village.  

Overnight near Chatkal.

 

4-Day  Kamchik Pass - Tashkent  

We will return to Tashkent today en route stopping for a plant hunt on the Kamchik Pass.

Kamchik Pass (2267m) in Kurama Hills.            

At the end of the day we will return to Tashkent.

5-day  Tashkent – Samarkand

This morning we depart for Samarkand. We take a stop on Timurlane Gate Pass.

Spend the afternoon in Samarkand.

6-Day  Samarkand – Shakhrisabz

We depart to Shakhrisabz the birthplace of Tamerlane, and south of Samarkand.

7-Day  Shakhrisabz  - Boysun

We leave Shakhrisabz for Shurab with botanist opportunities en route.

8-Day Boysun- Shakhrisabz

Today we plan to try and explore at least one of the valleys which enters the Boysun Tau range from the South or SE.

9-Day  Shakhrisabz – Tashkent

After breakfast sightseeing of Shakhrisabz.

In the afternoon taking fast train Afrosiyab back to Tashkent.

10-Day Tashkent – Home   

Depart to airport.
