Kyrgyzstan is a small mountainous country in the center of the Asian continent, where high mountains occupy 93% of the territory. Almost all the area has been settled from time immemorial. The Kyrgyz, who have preserved their ancient traditions right up until the present, live in unity with nature. Every summer the Kyrgyz people drive their cattle to the natural pastures, called “jailoo”, situated up in the mountains.

The nomadic style of life has determined that “the yurta” is a most comfortable and economic dwelling, which is suitable for rapid assembly and transportation. On our tour, you will have a chance to live in it, to understand how safe and comfortable it is and to experience its charm.

Kyrgyzstan is a multi-ethnic country with more than 80 nationalities living together. During this trip, you will see the lifestyles of different nationalities in Kyrgyzstan. Each evening you will share in the life of a family from a different ethnic background. It will be good chance to know about the real life of local people in mountain country.


AM.Arrival in Bishkek early in the morning. Meeting with guide and driver. Transfer to the hotel for the rest. Late breakfast. Visit Osh bazaar. Bazaar in Kyrgyzstan is a famous place among local people to sell and buy food products. Local farmers come to the bazaar early in the morning to sell products produced on farms. Bazaars are more colorful in the morning.

PM. Transfer to Kokomeren Gorge. The road goes via mountains of Kyrgyz range. You will cross the pass Too-Ashuu (3586 m). Local nomads stay on the mountain pasture Suusamyr during whole summer. DAY 2 KYZYL-OI – KYZART (start of the trek) – KILEMCHE VALLEY (100 km)

Breakfast. Transfer to Kyzartvillage.Meeting with the team and start the trekking from Kyzyl-Kiyajailoo, an enormous flat sea of grass. Continue along the Chaar-Archa Valley and eat a tasty lunch by the river, with views of Baba-Ata Mountain (4400). After lunch, cross the river and follow the trail over verdant hills to KilemcheJailoo. Dinner and accommodation in the yurts with the shepherd’s family.


After breakfast at Kilemche, spend the morning climbing to JalgyzKaragai pass (3400 m), over the Song-Kul Mountains and into the lake’s basin. Enjoy wonderful views of Kilemchejailoo and Son-Kul Lake in a distance. Short walk down from the pass to the yurt camp by the lake where you will have a lunch. You will have time to enjoy the amazing scenery of this place: edelweiss carpet, beautiful mountains and lake. Local people live and graze their livestock on the meadows (jailoo) around the lake, from June till September. You will taste the wilderness and freedom of nomadic life here. It will be possible to taste Kyrgyz traditional drink kymyz (fermented mare’s milk).Also it is possible to have a walk to the mountains or arrange a horse riding. Accommodation in the yurt camp.

DAY 4 SONG KUL – AT-BASHI (250 km)

Breakfast in the yurt camp. Transfer to At-Bashi village via “32 parrots” mountain pass. In At-Bashi, we stay in the farmer’s family. The wife of the farmerruns a felt workshop. Dinner and accommodation in the family.

DAY 5 AT-BASHI (150 km)

Breakfast with the family. After breakfast horse riding to the adjacent Kyzyl-Tuu village (15 km) and pay a visit to a trout-farm for an excursion and lunch. Return to At-Bashi. Dinner and accommodation in the farmer’s family.


Breakfast with the family. Transfer to Kochkorvillage.Drive to Eki-Naryn Valley where we will have a picnic lunch and short walk in the mountains. Dinner and accommodation in the family guesthouse.


Breakfast in the guesthouse. Transfer to Barskoon village. The road goes along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake, which is one of the biggest alpine lakes in the world. Stop on the way for a swim. Dinner and accommodation in the farmer’s family.


Breakfast with the family. Visit the orchard where the family grows apple trees, apricot trees and currant where you will have a chance to participate in the farming and help to the family. After lunchoptionally walking excursion in Barskoon Gorge. Dinner and accommodation in the family.   


Breakfast in the family. Transfer toKarakol,theadministrative center of Issyk-Kul region. During the city tour in Karakol you will visit wooden Russian Orthodox Church of Holy Trinity and Old Dungan Mosque..Head towardsTepke village for an excursion where local farmers breed Kyrgyz horse. Lunch on the farm.Drive to Semenovka village for dinner and overnight stay in the farmer’s family.

Day 10 SEMENOVKA– BISHKEK (320 km)

Breakfast with the family. Excursion in the farm. Transfer to Bishkek. Drive along the northern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake. Stop in Cholpon-Ata for lunch and excursion in the Stone Garden of Petroglyphs (stone inscriptions). Optionally boat cruise on the lake. Visit to historical complex toexplore ancient ruins of Balasagyn (capital of Karakhanid Empire) with Burana Tower built in 10th century. Head towards Bishkek. Dinner at the local restaurant. Accommodation in the hotel.


Breakfast at the hotel. City tour in Bishkek. Ala-Too Square, Oak Park, State Historical Museum (please note that Museum is closed on Monday). Dinner in the restaurant, optionally folklore show. Accommodation in the hotel.


Transfer to the airport early in the morning. Fly home.
