The north of Tajikistan comprises part of the Ferghana valley, which is the very heart of Central Asia and separated from the rest of Tajikistan by Zerafshan range of mountains. Locally named as Sogd region the north of Tajikistan has a lot of historical sights in cities of Penjikent, Istaravshan and Khujand, and natural wonders like Iskanderkul lake and 7 lakes, all of which are included on this trip.
Day 1: Drive to Iskanderkul (150 km, 3-4 hrs drive)
We will start our Journey with driving to Saritag via Iskanderkul, the most famous lake in Tajikistan. According to the legend, the Lake Iskanderkul was named after Alexander the Great, known as Iskander in the East. People say that Alexander the Great’s path to Central Asia from India laid through this lake. Arrival and accommodation at the guest house. Overnight at the guest house. Before heading to Saritag we will explore the lake and have a small hike to the Fann Niagara waterfall.

Day 2: Drive to Penjikent
(130 km, 3 hrs drive, a detour to the lake will take 5-6 hours in total including a hike, lunch, and driving)
Today we will continue driving north and turn west from Aini town to Penjikent city, once a prosperous city and cultural hub on the great Silk Road. Along the road, we will make a detour to visit yet another fantastic lake called Alaudin which is reached with a 1-hour hike from Vertical tourist camp. Arrival to Penjikent, night in a Hotel.

Day 3: Penjikent - 7 lakes - Penjikent (160 km, 5 hrs drive)
On this day we will explore the 7 pearls of Fann mountains. We will drive to Seven Lakes (80 km) from Penjikent. Seven lakes of Marguzor are located in the west of Fan Mountains; each of them has its own color which varies from calming turquoise to mesmerizing purple. At the last lake of Khazorchashma, you will enjoy a picnic near the lake. Drive back to Penjikent. Overnight at the Hotel

Day 4: Penjikent to Khujand (160 km, 4 hrs drive)
After the breakfast and a visit to Penjikent museum, we will continue on to Istaravshan city, once known as Cyropolis in Europe. We will enjoy a traditional lunch in a local chaikhana (teahouse) after arrival and head on to visit an ancient settlement, mosques, and local artisans. Closer to evening we will drive to Khujand.

Day 5: Khujand to Dushanbe (320 km, 5 hrs drive)
The first part of the day we will spend exploring the city, visiting the Museum of Archeology and Fortification, Shaikh Muslihiddin Mosque, Panjshanbe Bazaar, Arbob Palace where the peace treaty was signed during the civil war and “Tajik Sea” Kayracum. After lunch, we will drive back to Dushanbe.

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
