According the program of three-days trip, tourists visit Sharyn canyons. Our tour is the most intensive trip to canyons. You may compare itineraries of local guides, 99% of tourists visits only the Valley of the Castles.

We will visit six locations inside canyons:

1. the Valley of the Castles,

2. Lunar canyons’s viewpoint,

3. the Stone Shelf,

4. Napoleon,

5. the Austrian spot,

6. panoramic view of the Valley of the castles.

A brilliant in the route’s crown is a visit to the mountain Kolsay Lake, Kaindy Lake.

Also you will go on a tour by jeep and you get pleasure and incredible sensations from travelling by jeep.


Day 1

07:00. Departure to Sharyn canyons (240 km). We will visit 6 stunning locations inside canyons.

12:00. Visiting of the Valley of the Castles (Red Canyon or Qyzylsay), trekking inside canyon (1,5 km) and Panoramic site.

13:00. Lunches in boxes.

14:00. Visiting of Lunar (Moon) canyon panoramic site (25 km). Departure to the Stone shelf (20 km). Visiting Napoleon and the Austrian spot (15 km).

17:00. Departure to Saty village Dinner and overnight in the guest house (Saty village, 120 km).

Evening bonfire, guest house sauna visiting are included in price.


Day 2

Kolsay lakes

Kolsay lakes are located 330 kilometers south-east of Almaty, 10 kilometers north off the border with Kyrgyzstan. The lakes are located in the national park "Kolsay lakes" ("Kөlsay kөlderі" Memlekettik Ulttyk tabiғi parkі in Kazakh), found in February 2007. The territory of the national park is inhabited by representatives of the animal world such as: bears, wild boars, lynxes, wolves, foxes, hares and badgers.

Kolsay lakes is a system of three lakes in the northern Tien Shan, in the Kolsay gorge, in the bridge connecting the Kungei-Alatau and Ile-Alatau ridge

Saty lake (the lower lake) is located at an altitude of 1 818 meters above the sea level, length 1 kilometer, width 400 meters, depth 80 meters. Mynzhylky lake (the second lake) is at an altitude of 2 252 meters above the sea level and 8 kilometers away from the first lake. Sarybulak lake (the third lake) is at an altitude of 2 850 meters, 4 kilometers from Mynzhylky lake.

We visit the first Kolsai lake and the second lake

The first lake at an altitude of 1,818 meters above sea level, length: 1 kilometer, width 400 meters, depth 80 meters

Crystal clear emerald water of lakes is fresh and tight with the content of sodium sulfate. The bottom is shallow in places, without rocky ledges. Kolsay lakes are deep, in some places the depth is 80 meters. In summer the water temperature is 10 degrees. The lakes are flowing and are interconnected with Kolsay river, which originates at the Kungei Alatau ridge.

Program and route:

08:00. Breakfast in the guest house.

08:30. Departure to Saty lake (Kolsay 1st lake, 15 km). Trekking to Mynzhylky lake (Kolsay 2nd lake, 8 km).

13:00. Lunch in boxes, rest.

14:00. Way back to Kolsay 1st lake (8 km). We inform you that trekking between K1 and K2 is not easy, difference of heights between lakes is 40 meters above the sea level. Height of K2 lake is 2 200 meters above the sea level.

17:00. Dinner and overnight in the guest house. Evening bonfire, guest house sauna visiting are included in price.

Day 3

Kaindy lake

Kaindy Lake (“ Қayyңdy” means full of birch-trees) is famous for its origin. Formed in 1911 as a result of a strong earthquake, which caused a landslide, that blocked the valley, and the water flooded the valley with pine trees. The lake water is cold (6 C degrees in summer), causing the needles of the trees survive and it can be seen through the transparent surface of the water.


Program and route:

08:00. Breakfast in the guest house.

08:30. Departure to Kaindy lake (15 km).

09:15. Trekking around the lake, visiting of three panoramic sites (1,5 km).

11:30 Returning to the guest house.

12:30. Lunch in the guest house.

13:30. Returning to Almaty.

17:00. Arrival to Almaty.

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
