9 day riding cultural tour to Issyk-Kul and Son-Kul lake

 

Programm

Day1: airport-Bishkek
Meeting at the airport. Moving to Bishkek. Hotel accommodation. City Tour. Visit to Ala-Too Square, Victory Square, Oak Park, Osh Bazaar, Russian Orthodox Church. After lunch, drive to Ala-Archa National Park (40 km).

Day2: Bishkek-Burana-Cholpon Ata

     In the morning, meet with the guide / driver and drive to the Cholpon Ata valley, which is a popular tourist destination with fascinating beautiful untouched nature. On the way, visit the Burana tower, a small outdoor museum and tombstones (stone figures). Visitors can climb to the top of the minaret and enjoy the beautiful view of the valley. On the way, a stop in the village of Tamchy where the local Kyrgyz family meets and the Felt-Handicraft Show is held. After the show, lunch with the family.

Arrival in the town of Colpon Ata and accommodation in guest house and Visit the open-air Petroglyphs Museum (stone inscriptions) and the Ruh-Ordo Cultural Complex in the city of Cholpon-Ata.

D3: Colpon Ata-Karakol

After breakfast we drive toward to Karakol. Departure to the city of Karakol, located in the Far East of the lake. Upon arrival in Karakol, accommodation in a guest house.

After arriving in Karakol, accommodation in the family guest house or in the guest house.

In the afternoon, a sightseeing tour of the old wooden Russian church (built without nails), the Dungan Mosque (Dungan is an ethnic minority of Chinese Muslims who moved from Western China) and Kupechesky Proezd Street, which resembles an old Russian village of the 19th century. In addition, a visit to a local store selling hand-made souvenirs made by local women.

Day4: Karakol-Jeti Oguz

You can visit the Sunday Animal Market (open only on Sundays), which opens early in the morning.

 Transfer to the picturesque gorge Dzheti-Oguz (Seven bulls) (40 km), famous for coniferous forests, flower meadows and interesting hiking trails. today after breakfast we do hiking around through the forest in mountains visit to waterfall and come back to a guest house Dinner and overnight in a guest house.

Day5:Jeti-oguz-canyon Fairy Tale-Kochkor

After breakfast, drive toward to Kochkor villagge across the southern shore of Issyk-Kul lake. Visit the Canyon "Fairy Tale". The canyon was named after its eccentric rocky landscape, which over the years has been transformed by the wind into various sculptures. Some structures were named after their similarities with known objects. For example, one structure in the canyon is called the “Wall of China” because of its similarity to the Great Wall of China. Visitors can also find statues of hippos, snakes, dragons, giants and even entire castles. Not only do these structures have different shapes, but also different colors.

Day 6: Kochkor — Kyzart pass 2664m — Kilemche- Tuz Ashuu

After breakfast at Epkin home stay head towards west on the Kochkor — Jumgal road. Arrive at the Kyzart Pass, where start your trek tour with crossing the Kyzyl-Kiya jailoo, an enormous, relatively flat sea of grass. Continue over the Chaar-Archa Pass (3 061 m) into the Chaar-Archa Valley and eat a tasty lunch by the racing river, with views of holy 4400 m Baba-Ata Mountain. Sated, ford the river and follow the trail over verdant hills to Kilemche Jailoo. The name means “like a carpet,” and this swathe of grass covers whole mountain ranges, with shadings as subtle as any shyrdak (shyrdak is a Kyrgyz felt carpet). Dine and sleep in a yurt, naturally by the Tuz-Ashuu pass.

Trek time: 5-6 hours.


Day7: Kilemche — Tuz-Ashuu – Uzbek Ashuu

After breakfast at Kilemche, spend the morning climbing to Tuz-Ashuu pass (3400 m), over the Song-Kol Mountains and into the lake’s basin. The morning climb affords wonderful views of Kilemche jailoo, and the pass itself is rocky and exciting. From the pass, Song-Kol is still distant, but as you traipse down the slopes, it gets larger and larger; the mountains on the other side get higher and higher, until finally the lake fills most of your field of view and the southern mountains tower above it. picnic at the lake on the hill with amazing view, after lunch follow the lakeshore west to the yurt at Uzbek-Ashuu. Upon arrival meet your host family of Kyrgyz shepherds. Meals and overnight are in a yurt of shepherds.

Trek time: 5-6 hours.


Day8: Uzbek-Ashuu(Nurbek)-Silk road yurt camp

After breakfast take our way to west part of the lake along the lake shore. This day you will check your horse riding skills on the Song-Kol flat open valley. Upon your arrival lunch time to Silk Roade yurt camp, after lunch time for rest and participating to shepherd’s everyday life. Dinner and overnight in Tulapr-Tash yurt.

Day 9:  Silk road yurt camp — Kyzart village via «Uzbek»pass 3400m.

After breakfast at Silk Roade yurt camp leave SongKol to Kyzart village via Uzbek Pass. The pass opens you spectacular panoramic view to all SongKol valley. Say “Goodbye SongKol” and ride down to the village where your lunch will be waiting for you in family home stay. After lunch transfer to Bishkek. Accommodation in the hotel

Horse time is 5 hours.

Trek time: 6 hours.
