Dushanbe-Panjakent-Khujand tour

Day 01 - Dushanbe
Meet in the Dushanbe airport and transfer to hotel.
Sightseeing the Dushanbe city:

Visit the National Museum of Antiquities of Tajikistan which includes the exhibits on history and art of Tajikistan from ancient periods to present. You can see the sculpture of the large (13m) figure of the lying “Buddha in Nirvana” in traditional “Sleeping lion” posture.

 Visit  the Navruz Palace. Navruz Palace has 12 extraordinary halls, each of which is made in a traditional style. The complex has an art room, a banquet hall, a lounge room with carved stone trim, plaster room decorated with mirrors, two VIP rooms. At the same time building is ready to place 3.2 thousand guests. All the rooms of the palace are decorated by local artists, craftsmen: there are wood carvings and mosaic from the local semi-precious stones.

Day 02 – Dushanbe – Iskandarkul – Panjakent
Today, we head out into the high mountains where the real beauty of Tajikistan lies. Drive 150km or about 2 hours to Iskanderkul.

Arriving in Iskanderkul, you will have time to hike around the Snake-lake and to the waterfall famous also as Fan Niagara. Today we will have lunch at the shore of the lake exploring the wonderful surroundings of Iskanderkul.

Arrive to Panjakent about 6-7 PM.

Day 3 – Panjakent – Seven Lakes – Panjakent
In the morning drive to Seven lake 70km.

Seven beautiful lakes or also famous among local as Marguzor lakes: The first lakes name’s Mizhgon (eyelash) - Multi-coloured, one of the most beautiful Marguzor lakes. The Soya (shade) second lake and third lakes Husher (vigilance) at height 1700м. The fourth lakes  name’s Nofin  length 3,5км, depth 70m. The fifth lakes Hurdak. The sixth lakes Marguzor - length of lake 5км, depth of 80 metres, height on a sea level 2139м. Seventh Lake-Hazorchashma (one thousand sources) at height 2400м, length 4,5км and depth 85м.  Picnic near the lake.

Drive back to Panjakent city.

Visit the ruins of Ancient Panjakent site and Sarazm Bronze Age monument inscribed in UNESCO world Heritage list. Local bazar.

Day 4 – Panjakent – Istaravshan – Khujand
Today we drive about 4 hours to reach Istarvshan. In Istaravshan you visit Mugh-Tepa Fort, Mosque and place where the old practice an old knife making still can be experienced. On the way have lunch right on the Shahriston mountain pass to enjoy the famous smoked meat.

After lunch drive to Khujand.

Day 5 – Khujand
Little known to the outside world, Khujand has witnessed dramatic history and many giants (from Persian Shah, Cyrus the great to Alexander of the ancient world to in of modern history), have left their marks here.

You will visit Khujand historical museum Panjshanbe Bazar, Shaikh Muslihiddin Mosque.

In the afternoon, we will go on tour to Arbob Palace built in Soviet time, and functions as a museum today.
