Kharkhorin and Orkhon valley - 4 day tour

Day 1

We'll drive to Khogno Khan Uul National Park. It's a unique place with many different forms of landscape. Near the splendid mountain, Khogno Khan, we'll visit nomad family and get introduced their life style and taste dairy products. After little rest, we'll go hiking to the mountain to see Ovgon temple. Overnight in the nomad family's ger.

Day 2

After breakfast, we’ll have camel riding at Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, in the south of Khongno Khan mountain. Then, we'll drive to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of Mongolian Empire during 13th centuries. There, we’ll visit Erdene Zuu (Hundred treasures) monastery and local museum where we can explore incredible historical sites of ancient Empires of Stone and Bronze Ages. After having lunch, we’ll further drive to beautiful Orkhon river valley. Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its historical value related to Great Mongolian Empire, it's a picturesque place, where many nomad breeders set their summer camp. Overnight in nomad family's ger.

Day 3

After breakfast, we’ll have horse riding for an hour in Orkhon valley. Then, we'll drive 47km to the northwest of Kharkhorin site to see Turkish monuments and rock inscriptions erected in 8-9th centuries. We’ll make stop at Khar Balgas ruins to explore the remainder of the capital city of Uigar, founded in 751 and have picnic lunch there. We will drive further to Ugii Nuur lake. Ugii lake is freshwater lake, rich of many species of fish and birds, attracting domestic and international tourist for fishing, bird watching and swimming activities. We’ll go on a boat in the lake to enjoy the view of the lake surrounded by grassy steppe. Overnight in ger.

Day 4

After breakfast, drive back to UB.

Payment Method

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
