Join us on this special edition Naadam festival all-inclusive tour! Experience the spectacular Naadam festival opening ceremony and horse race at Khui doloon khudag, followed by overnight trips to Bayangobi Sand dunes, ancient capital Karakorum & Khustai National Park.
DAY BY DAY DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1. JUL 6. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia, and check into your hotel. Enjoy welcome dinner with the tour guide.
DAY 2. JUL 7. Ulaanbaatar - Bayangobi sand dunes
In the morning, depart to the picturesque Bayangobi sand dunes, aka Elsen Tasarkhai, a common border between Tov, Ovorhangai and Bulgan provinces. Visit ErdeneKhamba monastery and old monastery ruins from the Great Repression in 1930s in Hogno Khaan Nature Reserve Park. Walk along the 80-km long sand dunes on foot or optional camel riding.
DAY 3. JUL 8. Bayangobi - Karakorum
After breakfast, depart to the ancient capital Karakorum and Unesco world heritage site Orkhon Valley. Visit Erdenezuu monastery where you will see a distinct mixing of the styles of Mongolian and Tibetan Buddhism. Karakorum was once the heart of the Mongol Empire and today, you’ll still see remnants of the long standing walls that encircle the city.
DAY 4. JUL 9. Karakorum - Khustai National Park
The national park is surrounded by mountains, thick pine forests and lush meadows which are home to the endangered Przewalski wild horse "Takhi" and other wildlife. We will trek through the national park to spot endangered Takhi wild horse in the afternoon.
DAY 5. JUL 10. Khustai - Ulaanbaatar
We drive to the east to Ulaanbaatar, arrive and start the city tour. The city tour of Ulaanbaatar takes you through some of the principal sights of this unique city. You visit the Gandan Monastery, housing a 26 meter high gilded statue of the Buddha. Your tour also takes you to the Genghis Khan monument on the Sukhbaatar square and the Museum of National History. Afterwards visit the Giant Genghis Statue (1hr from UB) and return to Ulaanbaatar by 7pm and transfer to the hotel.
DAY 6. JUL 11. Naadam festival: Opening ceremony
See the fantastic opening ceremony of Naadam festival and watch the first round of Wrestling, and then Archery and Ankle bone shooting competitions. Meals at restaurants and overnight at hotel.
DAY 7. JUL 12. Horse race & Eagle Hunter visit
Today, we will drive to the horse racing place to experience the Naadam Festival horse races. We will also visit the Bogd Khan’s Palace Museum and see a traditional folk concert by magical Tumen Ekh ensemble.
DAY 8. JUL 13. Departure from Mongolia.
You are transferred to the airport/train station after breakfast. End of service.

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.
Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
