13 DAYS TOUR AROUND ISSYK-KUL LAKE  


Itinerary


Day 1  Meet from airport. Drive to Issyk-Kul region, Karakol. En-route visit an important point on the ancient Silk Road — the Burana Tower architectural complex, dated back to the 10th century, monuments include a minaret, remnants of a castle, and ancient warrior cemetery. Enjoy home cook meal near Burana at a Kyrgyz family home. Overnight at home stay in Karakol.


Day 2  Hire a vehicle to Jeti-Oguz gorge from Karakol ~50min (35km).  The trek will start at the Broken Heart, you will hike half way to Telety Pass ~4-5 hours (10km). Overnight in the tent (Elevation: 2843m)

Day 3  Leaving the campsite you will summit Telety pass (3820m) and descend to Karakol valley ~4-5 hours (8km).  Overnight in the tent (Elevation: 3000m).

Day 4 Leaving the campsite you will enter Karakol Valley (Karakol National Park) and ascend to Sirota base camp ~4-5 hours (9km).  You will be walking alongside the river for ~1 hour and then you will cross a bridge with a cable and trek up the valley to the campsite.Enjoy a short hike around the lake which  area and beware at night the temperatures fall below 0 C Overnight in the tent (Elevation: 3500m).

Day 5  Leaving the campsite you will summit Alakul pass (3860m) ~2 hours. where you Then you will descend to Keldiki gorge.  Be aware that the Alakul pass is steep with many loose rocks and can be dangerous. Overnight at home stay in Karakol.(Elevation: 2500m).

Day 6 We will stay in Altyn-Arashan to relax with hot spring and  to strengthen the forces for the most productive trip and enjoy the beautiful landscape of this area.Overnight at guest house  .(Elevation: 2500m)

Day 7 You are leaving Arashan and go toward Anyr-Tor gorge, and go up near to Ortok Pass located in 3609m. (Almaluu). Here the view of Altyn-Arashan can be seen. A camp will be in 3100m. The duration of trekking is 5-6 hours.Overnight in a tent(Elevation: 3609m)

Day 8  We will go up to Ortok pass located in 3609m. The view of Altyn-Arashan and Tashtanbek pick and the glacier opens there. Further you will go down to Ak-Suu (Almaluu). You can observe local shepherds there. The camp will be settled near Ak-Suu river in 2900m. The duration of trekking is 6-7 hours.Overnight in a tent(Elevation: 2900m)

Day 9  The ascent at Ailanysh pass is in 3671m. The descent along Ailanysh lake is 3432m in Jergez Gorge. A camp will be in 3000m.

Day 10 The descent will be till Jergez river is separated. On the way you will see the view of Ala-Kol and Kungoi Ala-Too. Duration of descent: 5-6 hours. A car will pick you to Karakol. Overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 11 Quick excurson to Dungan Mosque and Cathedral in Karakol then drive to Djuuku hot springs. Take photos continue to the main road, the south road of the Issyk-Kol lake. . After again main road and stop for Skazka canyons. Possible to visit the Barskoon waterfalls but will be very long day then. Evening arrive to Bishkek.Overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 12  We  will guide you to the Ala Archa National Park to the Ala Archa Waterfall.  The trek is straight forward, we would start at the Ala Archa park and trek for 3-4 hours one way to the waterfall where we would have lunch in the valley and have an amazing view of the mountains. It’s a great hike for a beginner that wants to see a bit of the mountains, but does not want to push them self too hard.  After the trek, we will return to Bishkek where you will be dropped off at your guesthouse.

Day 13  We will pick you up from the place we agree beforehand in Bishkek city.We will start at the very heart of the capital – Ala Too Square. We will walk around and see the Parliament House, in Statue, the White House, the change of the Guard of Honor, and Manas Monument. Next we will visit the National History Museum. Later we will continue across Erkindik Boulevard and visit an open air art gallery, Oak park, the Opera House, Viry Square, and the Eternal Flame. If desired, we can visit ZUM (a multi-level shopping mall) for souvenirs. Next we will head to a local Bazaar), which will take us about half an hour by car. Here you can wander through colorful rows of fruit, vegetables, nuts, sweets, pastries, grains, meat, and cheese. This is a really great photo opportunity! Return to the center where we will finish up with a visit to Manas Square where you will be able to see the Concert Hall, Kyrgyz State University, City Hall, and statues of the Heroes from the Kyrgyz epic poem – Manas.

In the late afternoon you will be brought by your guide and driver to the address.

Cost for the 13 - day tour is:

2 people = 1300 dollars a person * with 1 porter that will take 15 kg.

3 people = 1100 dollars a person *with 2 porter that will take 15 kg.

4 people = 900 dollars a person *with 3 porter that will take 15 kg.
