Day 01: Arrival in Cochin
Meet our representative upon arrival in Cochin and drive towards hotel to check-in. Cochin is amalgam of medieval Portugal, Holland and an English village grafted onto the tropical Malabar Coast. Overnight stay in Cochin hotel. Kochi is a major port of South coast of India. It is also called as Queen of Arabian Sea and is also an important spice trading centre of India where trading took place with the Portuguese, Dutch and Arabs. The ruler of Kochi gave the Portuguese permission to build a fort at Kochi called ‘Manuel Kotta’ (Fort Emmanuel) – which is the first European fort in Kochi
Day 02: Cochin sightseeing
After breakfast, proceed to explore this colourful city with Mattanchery Palace- gifted to the king of Cochin, by Portuguese in 1555, about 500 year old Jewish Synagogue, Chinese fishing nets, local spices market followed by colorful performing art – Kathakali Dance. Later return to the accommodation. Overnight in Cochin
Day 03: Cochin to Munnar
After breakfast check-out and drive to Munnar,approx 4.5 hrs drive. It offers cardamom and spice plantations, aromatic oil factories, sights of several endangered species and the purple-blue of the Neelakurinji flowers that bloom every 12 years. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and spend evening at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel
Day 04: Munnar sightseeing
After breakfast, Explore Eravikulam National Park, home to various elusive and endangered species. It is a great place to enjoy trekking and offers mind-blowing views of the tea plantations. Later, proceed towards Tea Museum (closed on Monday), which gives an insight to the history of tea plantations of this region. Later visit Mattupetty Dam, Eco Point and Flower Garden. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 05: Munnar to Thekkady
After breakfast, check-out and drive to Thekkady,approx 2.5 hrs drive. It is a synonymous to uninterrupted hills, rich biodiversity and spice plantations. The place is best known for the Periyar National Park. In the afternoon, proceed for boat-ride at Periyar Lake, and in evening watch traditional Kalari show. Return to the accommodation for overnight stay.
Day 06: Thekkady to Kumarakom
After breakfast, check-out and drive to Kumarakom,approx 3.5 hrs drive. Arrive at your accommodation, and spend rest day free at leisure. You may enjoy traditional Ayurveda massages here. Ayurveda is the ancient healing system of India and has been practised continuously for over 5,000 years. The various treatments are individually prescribed and involve the use of medicated herbal oils, herbs, powders and poultices & natural ingredients. In evening, explore the Kerala Backwaters through sunset cruise at Vembanad Lake. Overnight in Kumarakom
Day 07: Kumarakom to Alleppey
After breakfast, check-out and board your House Boat in Alleppey, approx an hr drive. The Houseboat takes you around the backwaters of Kumarakom and Alleppey. All meals serve on board. Overnight in the house boat
Day 08: Alleppey to Kovalam
After breakfast, check-out and drive approx 4 hrs to Kovalam, a beach town by the Arabian Sea in Thiruvananthapuram city. it defines the grove of coconut trees. Kovalam first received attention when the Regent Maharani Sethu Lakshmi Bayi of Travancore constructed her beach resort, Halcyon Castle, here towards the end of the 1920s. Upon arrival, check-in at accommodation and spend rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Kovalam
Day 09: Kovalam to Trivandrum
After breakfast, proceed for the sightseeing of Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) a capital city of Indian state of Kerela. It is the largest city in Kerela, covering Napier Museum is an art and natural history museum established in 1855, Art Gallery and Padmanabhaswamy Temple – temple build in Dravidian style of architecture. It is by far the wealthiest institution and place of worship of any kind in the recorded history of the world. In evening return to back to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 10: Trivandrum & Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Trivandrum airport for return flight back home.
