JOURNEY ON THE MOST ENGINEERING KARAKORUM HIGHWAY

 

DAY 01 ARRIVAL AT SOST CHINA BORDER.

Meet and our guide and drive to Passu village. En route sightseeing. Visit Borit Lake- Husseni suspension bridge-See Batura glacier and wall. Short trek to Passu Ghar to see a nicer view of whole Passu village and Karakorum Highway with surrounding sky touching and lofty peaks.Take a great view of Toppdan peak 610m overnight stay at Hotel.

 

DAY 02 PASSU VILLAGE-ATTA ABAD LAKE- HUNZA

Drive to Hunza Karimabad via newly Chinese made tunnel. Boating at Atta Abad lake and drive to Hunza. En route sightseeing of ancient rock carving, oldest Ganish village. Drive to Karimabad and visit two historical forts Balitt and Altit Fort. Walk around the village and enjoy local traditional customs. For sunset we head to Duiker village to have a panoramic view of 7000m mountains,

 

DAY 03 HUNZA TO HOPER NAGAR VALLEY-HUNZA.

very early dawn we go to highest photography view point to have a spectacular view of Rakaposhi, Diran peak, Ular I and Ultar II mountains, Hunza Peak, Lady finger, Miar glacier, Shishper peak,After Sunrise photo shot we walk back to Hotel for breakfast. Then we drive to Nagar Hoper valley across the Hunza River. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes a short walk on the back glacier enjoy photography and back to restaurant for lunch. After lunch we driv to whole nagar valley with great views of the beautiful mountains. For overnight stay back to Hunza. .

 

DAY 04 HUNZA-GILGIT-CHILAS-KARAKORUM HIGHWAY-BESHAM

Today we start our outbound journey very early in the morning and Depart for Besham via Karakorum Highway. En route we stop at the world three greatest mountains ranges The Karakorum, The Himalayas and The Hindu Kush with confluence of Mighty Indus and Gilgit River.  Lunch at Chilas. The whole journey is on KKH along the might of Indus River. Karakorum Highway is the most engineering road made through tumbling rock and passing the Gorge of Karakoram and Himalayans mountains on the most winding path. The construction of KKH was 1968to 1978 and for the first time it was open for the public on 1980. Before the build of KKH Silk route was main route from east to west and made by Han dynasty of China for their trading purposed.. En route stop for photography and toilet breaks. Visiting Dassu, Patton. Reach to Besham. Approximate driving distanced is 12/13

hours.

DAY 05/BESHAM- THAKOT-MANSEHRA –ABBOTTABAD-TAIXLA MUSEUM –ISLAMABAD

After breakfast we drive through the greener Himalayan foothills. At Thakot we leave Indus River and enter to Shimla hills. En route we stop for Lunch. After we wind back down and stop off at the world heritage dig sites and Taxila Museum before. street  We will visit Taxila Museum and Dharmarjica Stupa site. Ancient Taxila was centre of Ghandhara Civilization and empires invaded here like Persian, Greeks,Indo greek,Kushan and more. The city history goes to 1000BCE, Drive to Islamabad. Visit Faisal Mosque which is largest Mosque in Pakistan donated by Late King Faisal.It is Turkish architecture design. Visiting Shah Fasial mosque and Islamabad sights with dinner in food For dinner we transfer to Chinese Restaurant. Overnight stay Hotel, Approximate drive distanced is 4/8 hours.

DAY 06 ISLAMABAD-MOTORWAY –LAHORE

Very early in the morning after breakfast we drive to Lahore on Motorway. The MT Motorway is a north–south Motorway in Pakistan connecting Rawalpindi /Islamabad and Lahore .The motorway is 375 km long and located entirely in Punjab. It passes through all Pakistan cities. En route stop for Lunch and toilet breaks only. Upon arrival to Lahore visit Lahore Fort, Bade Shahi iconic Mosque, Lahore Museum and some major shopping malls visit old bazzars and old streets. If you have enough time we will stay in Lahore for a complete tour. Nest day will be transfer to Wagha boarder before immigration closed. Immigration timing is 9 to 14: 00 pm. Enter to India with a lot good memories from colorful culture and high mountains. Goodbye and have a safe for the rest!
