 Full itinerary

 Day1. Manzushir monastery

In the morning, our guide and a driver will pick up from your hotel or guesthouse and start our tour. We leave the city before we pass some shops. After shops directly driving towards to Manzushir monastery for 50 km from Ulaanbaatar. Manzushir monastery located in the lush Bogd Khan Mountain Protected Area. The ruins of the Manzushir monastery (destroyed in 1938). Many Buddhas are painted on the rocks, and one of them is two meters (6.56 feet) high. The Manzushir monastery has protected from 1971 and the paintings of Buddha since 1. Built between 1733 and 1747 the monastery initially had only one temple. Lunch served, on the way. Visitors have the option to hike up to the top of the mountain to “Tsetsee Gun”, a beautiful view-point that offers stun views of the surrounding countryside and a panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar. After returning to the vehicle, head to tonight’s Ger guesthouse. B+L+D

 Day2. Elsen Tasarhai

After breakfast, drive towards to Elsen Tasarhai know as well Mongolian Sand Dune for 340 km. Lunch served, on the way. The area is surrounded by sand dunes, hills covered with rare bushes and a small forest near a river. Together this presents a unique combination of Mongolian mountains, forests and Gobi-type landscape in one location. These stays among locals will give you the opportunity to share the daily life of your hosts and taking part in their tasks. You will be led to help to make dairy products, to take part in milking the animals or to help to round up the herd. We will ride camels along sand dunes and enjoy the incredible contrasting view.  Day3. Orkhon waterfall

 After breakfast, we will drive to off-road Orkhon waterfall for 200 km. Have lunch in a village of Khujirt and after you will arrive in Orkhon waterfall. The Orkhon waterfall formed by combination volcanic eruption and earthquakes some 20000 years ago, cascades down from a h 27 meters. Many bigger and smaller rivers flow into the Orkhon waterfall. The Orkhon river has many species of fish like the pike, Siberian gray, roach, Siberian dace, silurian, carp, and lake layer. After returning to the vehicle, head to tonight’s Ger guesthouse/nomad family/. B+L+D

 Day4. Karakorum

After breakfast, we will drive towards Karakorum city & Erdenezuu monastery for 120 km. Lunch served, on the way. The most prominent historical site in Orkhon Valley is the Karakorum, the ancient capital of the Mongol empire. The Karakorum, founded in 1220 by Genghis khan, was not only the capital of the vast Mongolian Empire but the epic center of trade of Silk Road. However, the Karakorum of today is a small settlement of little focus on tourism. Upon arrival in the village, we will visit the museum of Karakorum and learn about the beautiful ancient Karakorum. Then we will visit to the magnificent and the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex about Erdenezuu, built in the 16th century, with 108 stupas. After returning to the vehicle, head to tonight’s Ger guesthouse. B+L+D

 Day5. Ugii lake

After breakfast, we will drive towards to Ugii lake for 100 km from the Karakorum. Lunch served, on the way. Ugii lake is 30 km north-east of Ugii Nuur soum center and in the Orkhon River Valley belonging to Steppe Natural Zone. This fresh-water lake has herbaceous grasses and is surrounded by steppes. Around this lake, there are many swamps, ponds, flood plains, pastures, and sandy areas. This lake was registered for Ramsay’s convention for protecting swampy environments suitable to water birds because many species of rare birds including ducks, gooses, swans, spoonbills, and Dalmatian pelicans visit here.  Day6.Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast, we will head to Ulaanbaatar. On the way, lunch served. In the evening we will attend an amazing performance of Mongolian traditional music and dance. Overnight hotel or guesthouse. B+L

Tour Info

Accommodation: During your countryside stay we provide Ger guesthouse accommodations, most of the guesthouse supply the Mongolian traditional dwelling Ger as guest’s accommodation. Normally, four or five beds are in one Ger. Ger guesthouse means: Some nomadic people that live within the national park area have their own small business for Ger accommodation for backpackers. Staying there gives you a chance to get closely acquainted with the way of life and culture of the Mongolian people.

● Some local guesthouses offer food service for their customers. Usually, serve Mongolian meals and Russian styled meals. 

● Shower & toilet most of the local Ger guesthouse did not have formal toilets.

● Electricity: There is no electricity at the same local Ger guesthouses specially located far away from a village or town.

Meals: During your travels with us, guides for cooking you. Most of the Mongolian traditional meal is based on meat, choices of beef, mutton, goat, chicken, and even vegetables. So, please let us know if you have a special request (vegan). It is also available to have and taste traditional dairy products when you visit nomad families. Someday will be picnic lunch as well as on the way we will pass local restaurants or cuisine.

Transportation: In the countryside, we mostly use the Russian minivan, Japanese or Korean minivans as well as Japanese Jeeps.

All our tour guides are highly experienced (minimum of 3 years) and have an excellent level of language, knowledge of our Mongolian culture and custom & tradition. For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
