The festival of the lunar New Year, Tsagaan Sar is celebrated in or around February depending on the Mongolian lunar calendar. Tsagaan Sar meaning White Month or Moon, is one of the main public holidays, next to the Naadam. It marks the end of winter and beginning of the spring and the New Year’s cycle. During these days, people eat traditional steamed food and hold traditional and ritual ceremonies. Also, they have a great opportunity to visit elderly relatives and wish them a long life and receive their sermon. The families give to their guest present as well.

Mongolian National Holiday Tsagaan Sar Day Tour:
The tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive to East district area about an hour. When we will arrive at the family’s home, they might already have their visitors over. Most of them will be dressed in their traditional clothing to greet the host or elderly people. Some come by car, and some come by horse. We will follow other guests and greet the family members first and then the visitors by a special handshake, which will be instructed by our guide. Then you will sit down and join the feast. The main dish will be steamed dumplings which are called Buuz and we will play a traditional game Shagai Also, we will get the chance to the introduced partly about the nomadic winter life and place. Afterward, we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Meals: L

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.
Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
