Gobi Desert 

Khongor sand dunes is the most tourist attraction and famous for Singing sands. It is located in Gurvan Saikhan national park in Mongolia. The sand dunes long are 180 km and wide are 6-12 km. The northern border of the dunes is skirted by a small river, the Khongoryn Gol where green pastures are noted. Ranchland is surrounded by camels and horses of the nomadic families on this area. It is home for Saker falcons, Pallas’s sand grouse, and Saxaul sparrow, corsac fox and red fox.

Central Mongolia 

Central Mongolia is a region in Mongolia. It is the most tourist attractions in Mongolia. The steppes of Central Mongolia, beginning only a short distance from the avenues of Ulaanbaatar, are home to many of the nomadic families who travel the plains with their livestock as well as small towns and ger settlements. There are many historical sites to be explored in Mongolia’s heartland particularly in the Orkhon River valley, which contains archaeological remains dating back several centuries. Few traces remain of Karakorum, in the 13th century capital of the Mongol empire, but the nearby temple of Erdene Zuu was reputedly built from its ruins. The wall surrounding this vast monastery complex which houses spectacular Buddhist art and architecture is made up of over one hundreds white stupas. The Khuvsgul Lake is the largest fresh water in Mongolia by volume and second largest by area. It is located near the northern border of Mongolia and west of the southern end of the Baikal. The Lake is surrounded by several mountain ranges such as Burenkhan/ Munkh Saridag 3492 m (11,457) which has its park north of the lake exactly on the Russian - Mongolian Border.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 01: ARRIVAL IN ULAANBAATAR

Whenever your flight landed in Ulaanbaatar international airport, you will meet your driver and transfer to the hotel. The hotel will be selected you.

Day 02: ULAANBAATAR CITY TOUR

At 12, we will meet at hotel and visit to National history museum; it has three floors, violent and noble past, national clothes of ethnic groups, from prehistory to Soviet Union including all nomadic gears and the creation of Genghis khan. Also, we will walk to Sukhbaatar square, which is surrounded by Parliament house, bank and theatre. Mostly summer time, groom and braids are taking photo there. Then, we will visit to Mongolian traditional show Tumen Ekh ensemble: traditional song, dancers, Khoomi, throat song, contortion and traditional instrument of Mongolia. The hotel will selected by you. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 03: BAGA GAZRIIN CHULUU

After breakfast, we will drive to Baga gazriin chuluu. It is located 37 km northwest from the center of Delgertsogt Soum, Dundgobi province. This area of granite surrounded by flat plains is located 1768m above sea level covering 300 sq. km area. There are many sights to see such as a rocky ravine of poplar called Sudutyn am, Jargalant cave, spring of eyesight, Takhiltiin canyon etc. Have dinner and overnight stay in a guest house. (B+L+D)

Day 04: TSAGAAN SUVARGA

After breakfast, we will drive to Tsagaan Suvarga. The slope is located in Dundgobi province. It is a sheer slope that was created 100 million years ago. Far away, it seems ruin of ancient city. After lunch, we will hike around the sheer slope. You can take great photo when sunset and sunshine. Have dinner and overnight stay in a ger camp.  (B+L+D)

Day 05: YOL VALLEY

After breakfast, we will drive to Yol valley by paved road. On the way, we will stop for Dalanzadgad for buy foods or snacks. The valley is narrow gorge; some place only passes two persons and covered with thick ice. In July, it will melt. After lunch, at local restaurant in Yol valley, will hike to thick ice. Water is fresh and like waterfall. Have dinner and overnight stay in a guest house. (B, L, D)

Day 06: KHONGOR SAND DUNES

After breakfast, we will drive to Khongor sand dunes by off-road. It is biggest sand dunes in Gobi. There is river is flowing near the Khongor sand dunes, so it is called Khorgoriin Gol or Seruun Bulag. After lunch, we will relax until hot temperature getting decreases. Then, we will visit to camel herder family and taste Khormog (fermented camel milk). Next, we will climb to the Duut Mankhan which is 300m high. When you are climbing, it sounds like a airplane engine. Have dinner and overnight stay in a guest house. (B+L+D)

Day 07: BAYANZAG

After breakfast, we will drive to Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs, which is an area of the Gobi desert in Umnugobi province. In 1920s, American paleontologist Roy Chapmen Andrews was given name, because it was most famous for yielding the first discovery of dinosaur eggs. Other finds in the area include specimens of Velociraptor and eutherian mammals. The lunch will be at local restaurant. In the evening, we will hike to red cliffs and see the sunset. Have dinner and overnight stay in a ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day 08: ONGI MONASTERY

In the morning, after breakfast, we will drive to ruin of Ongi monastery. It is located in Saikhan-Ovoo soum of Dundgobi province. It was destroyed by communism in 1939. They killed lots of monks and some survival monks was escaped Others were escaped. After fell down communism in 1991, two monks return to old monastery and rebuilt. Have dinner and overnight stay in a guest house. (B+L+D)

Day 09: SHIREET HILL & VISIT TO NOMADS

After breakfast, we will pass Shireet Davaa 2500m above sea level. Afterwards, we will reach to nomadic family and have lunch. In the afternoon, it is free time. Have dinner and overnight stay in a nomadic family. (B+L+D)

Day 10: TREK TO SHIREET LAKE

After simple breakfast, we will continue to our trek to Shiveet Lake. On the way, we will visit to Shanaa, Khaliut, Bugat and Shireet lakes. After lunch we will back to our tent and rest until dinner. Have dinner and overnight stay in a tent.  (B+L+D)

Day 11: TREK TO NAIMAN NUUR

After simple breakfast, we will enter to Naiman Lakes National Parks. On the way, we will see Duruu and Khuis lakes. Simple lunch we will be provided by our cook. It was surrounded by Siberian Larches. We will visit to yak herder family and taste traditional foods such as Shimiin Arkhi (traditional vodka and made from milk). Have dinner and overnight stay in a tent.  (B+L+D)

Day 12: TREK TO TSAGAAN AZARGA LAKE

After simple breakfast, we will start our trek. We hike in a valley surrounded by the Khangai Mountains and Siberian larches. We reach the small Lake Tsagaan Azarga. Have dinner and overnight stay in a tent. (B+L+D)

Day 13: TREK TO UUURAG VALLEY

After breakfast, we will trek to Uuragt valley. On the way, we will go to the Orkhon waterfall, ten meters wide and twenty meters high. You can see basalt stone river and lavas created by earthquake and eruption in 2.5 million years ago. After lunch, we will continue to our trek. Have dinner and overnight stay in a tent.  (B+L+D)

Day 14: ORKHON VALLEY

After breakfast, we will hike to Orkhon valley. On the way, we will see the Orkhon waterfall. It is located in valley by earthquake 20 million years ago. It comes from Ulaan River which is 18 m high surrounded by Siberian larch. After lunch, we will hike to nomadic family. For dinner we will have Khorkhog which is Mongolian barbeque. Have dinner and overnight stay in a yak herder family. (B, L, D)

Day 15: TOVKHON MONASTERY

In the morning, after breakfast, we will drive to Tovkhon and hike 5 km to Tovkhon monastery. This monastery is located on the border of the 3 provinces which are Uvurkhangai, Arkhangai and Bayankhongor.  It is located on a flat rocky area on the top part of the Shiveet Ulaan Mountain and is surrounded by wild-woods and rock cliffs. The Tovkhon monastery was first established in 1648 by the 14 year old Zanabazar, when he built a small wooden cabin for meditation. Have dinner and overnight stay in a tent. (B+L+D)

Day 16: TREK TO KHANGAI MOUNTAINS

After breakfast, we will hike to Tsetserleg River. You can see amazing nature with wildlife and wildflower. We reach the Tsenkher River, where we have lunch. We climb a second pass, where we’ll have a break near worship. Have dinner and overnight stay in a tent. (B+L+D)

Day 17:  TREK TO TSETSERLEG RIVER

After breakfast, we will continue hike to next camping destination. After lunch, we turn to our left and go over a pass, before walking down towards a lush valley. Have dinner and overnight stay in a tent. (B+L+D)

Day 18: TREK TO TSENKHER HOT SPRING

After breakfast, we will continue to hike Tsenkher hot spring and located in Tsenkher soum. These volcanoes, and the accompanying tectonic activity, are responsible for the numerous water springs and natural hot water that flows yearlong from an elevation of 1860 meters above sea level. Mongolia’s most famous hot spring, Tsenkher natural hot spring and water from this geological spectacle emerges from the ground at 85.5°C (185.9°F). Tsenkher hot springs have healing properties that assist in treating articular diseases and nervous system diseases. Have dinner and overnight stay in a tourist ger camp.  (B+L+D)

Day 19: KARAKORUM & ERDENE ZUU MONASTERY

After breakfast, we will drive to Karakorum. Lunch will provided by local restaurant. Then, we will visit the museum of Karakorum and ruins of ancient city which was the capital city of the Mongol Empire founded in the 13th century by Genghis Khan. Then, we will visit to the oldest Erdene Zuu monastery, built in the 16th century by Abtai Khan, with 108 stupas. have dinner and overnight stay in a guest house. (B, L, D)

Day 20: KHOGNO KHAN NATURE RESERVE

After breakfast, we will drive to Khogno khan Nature reserve by paved road. On the way, we will pass Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes which are 80 km long and 6 km wide. It is surrounded by Burch, small lake, clear rapid, mountain and combined all natures. After lunch, we will drive to Khogno khan nature reserve. When we arrive, we will short hike to Erdene Khamba monastery which was destroyed in 1930s by communism purge. Now, there are 5 monks are working only summer time. Ruins of monasteries are still active. Then, we will hike to Uvgum monastery. The nature reserve is home for wild animals and 25 specific plants for medicine. Have dinner and overnight stay in a guest house. (B ,L, D)

Day 21: DRIVE BACK TO ULAANBAATAR

After breakfast, we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar city. The lunch, will prepare by cook. He will transfer to the hotel. The hotel will selected by you. (B, L)

Day 22: DEPARTURE

In the morning, your driver will pick you up your hotel and transfer to the airport. Have a nice journey! (B)

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
