Announcement: Pamir mountain - one of the highest mountain system and unbeaten place in a world, called Roof of the World. Most of Pamir on the territory of Tajikistan eastside, Mountain Badahshan Autonomous Region. This region separated from all Asia countries and saved their original ancient culture and population. Inaccessibility and tough nature help for this.This region, also with Kyrgyzstan, sometimes called “water towers” because the region’s main rivers starts here in mountain glaciers and supply hot and dry Asia.
Pamir people feel difference from other people in Tajikistan, but they themselves also not similar and there like several nations with some difference in language and culture. Therefore,If you want really explore Pamir, we can make tour for 15 days and visit remained from main highway places. Somewhere we should drive through tough mountain roads, somewhere hiking through narrow treks.
The tour program includes visiting of historic places and museums, meeting with local people and culture, overnight in homestay, participate in local holiday events, short excursion to Afghanistan, bathing in hot springs, hiking in the mountains and etc.
Day 1 - Start from Osh to the base camp of Lenin Peak (250 km). Walk on the onion meadow and the Tulpar-Kul lake. Overnight in a yurt camp at an altitude of about 4000 m (good acclimatization before the Pamir Highway passes).
Day 2 - Start to the Pamir Highway from the Base Camp of Lenin Peak to Kara-Kul Lake (160 km) and cross the border through the Kyzyl Art Pass (4,280 m). Kara Kul Lake is located at an altitude of 4000 m. This alpine lake is the largest in Tajikistan, and it is also very salty. There is a theory that it was formed as a result of a meteorite fall. Near the lake is a small Kyrgyz village that graze yaks. Overnight at the guest house.
Day 3 - Departure to the Murgab village (160 km). Along the way, we will cross the highest pass Ak Baital pass (4,655 m). If you feel ok, we can hike around there for 2-3 hours and try to see the Lenin peak on the North and noname 7-thousand peaks on eastside. Murghab is an alpine settlement, surrounded by 6 and 7 thousandth peaks. The settlement was organized by the Russian military as a frontier post. The village is populated by Kyrgyz and Pamiri. Overnight at the guest house.
Day 4 – Trip to the Yashil Kul and Bulun Kul lakes (160 км). The most beautiful lakes of the Pamirs situated on 3 700 meters above sea level. It's full of fish, so fishing possible. Hiking aound this place. Overnight at the guest house.
Day 5 - Departure to the Langar village (160 km). We will drive along Wakhan valley. By the way we will visit the ancient fortress "Yamchun" and hotsprings "Bibi Fatima". Above the Vrang village we will see a Buddhist complex dating from 4th- 7th centuries. At Yamg village, we visit the reconstructed home of Sufi mystic Muabara Kadam. Overnight at the guest house.
Day 6 – Departure to Ishkashim village (60 km). Ishkashim is small Tajik village, but across the river there bridge and border to the Ishkashim town in Afghanistan, where on weekends there is a big market. By you wish, you can cross the border and visit this "Bazar". It's enough safety, but afghan guide also possible to find (extra pay). Overnight at the guest house.
Day 7 - Departur to Khorog city (220 км), administrative center of the Pamir region. We will drive along Tajik and Afghanistan border. In Khorog we will visit Ethnographical Museum and the Botanical Gardens. Overnight at the guest house.
Day 8 - Departure to Kalai Khum village (240 км). We will drive into the spectacular Bartang Valley,on the other side of the river you will see Afgan stony villages and gardens. Overnight at the guest house.
Day 9 - Departure to Dushanbe city (370 км). We will drive by the south road with short stop in Kulyab city. So you can see life style of south tajik peolpe that quite same to north afghan people. Short stop in Kulyab city and Norak water reservoir that is called Tajik Sea. Views of world’s highest hydro power station dam.
Additional information: Tour of the program for 9 days, but can be extended up to 10 days depending the situation on the mountain roads.

The total distance of the tour path is 1600 km.
The cost of the tour includes accommodations in guesthouses or homestays and meals 3 times a day, on some days lunch in the form of snacks and dry rations, payment for entry at all facilities.
