Self-drive Off-road to Kel-Suu and Song-Kul lakes on UAZ Hunter with guide services, off-road training, technical support. We will accompany you on another vehicle – TLC Prado 95 with set of tools, spare parts and etc. Difficulty level - HARD.
Announcement: The Tien Shan mountain system in Central Asia covers the territory of 5 countries. Most of it lies on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The most picturesque part of it is - the ranges of Kyungoy Ala-Too and Terskei Ala-Too covers the Chui and Issyk-Kul valleys and Naryn region of the Kyrgyzstan.
You will get great off-road driving experience in mountain. Road to Kel-Suu extremely tough and sometime dangerous, expecially after rain or snow. Our rout is like a stretched circle - through Chuy and Naryn region.
The tour program includes visiting of historic places and museums, meeting with local people and culture, overnight in yurt and homestay, hiking in the mountains, skitour at wintertime and etc.
Day 1 - Starting from Bishkek to the Song-Kul lake (300 km). By the we will visit Burana tower museum (10-11 century a.c.). We will drive to Song-Kul lake through Kalmak-Ashuu pass. Short hiking and overnight in yurt.
Day 2 - Drive to Kel-Suu lake (240 km). We will drive through another pass - Terskey-Torpok, also called like 38 parrot, because it is steep and have serpentine with 38 turns. Short stop to waterfall after pass. Road to Kel-Suu lake tough, especially after rain and snow. We should cross water and swamp places. Hiking there and swimming at will. Overnight in yurt.
Day 3 - Drive to Tash-Rabat history complex (150 km) along the south coast of Chatyr-Kol lake. Tash-Rabat - caravan-saray (15 century a.c.) was one of the pitstop on Silk Way Between China and Europe. Located at an altitude of 3,200 meters. By your will, you can make a horsetrek from Chatyr-Kul lake to Tash-Rabat through the pass and valley. Overnight in yurt.
Day 4 - Driving to the Song-Kul lake (160 km) through the Moldo-Ashuu pass. Short stop for lunch. Than we will drive to Suusamyr (180 km). Our road goes through very scenic places along Kokomeren river to Suusamyr Valley - it is a high plateau in the center of the Western Tien-Shan and the largest jailoo (pasture) in Kyrgyzstan. Here you will see huge herds of sheep and horses and you can drink the best koumiss in the country, possibly in the world :). By the way short stops in Kyzyl-Oi and Kojomkul villages in museum and viewpoints. Overnight in yurt.
Day 5 - Today we will drive through picturesque and lively Too-Ashuu pass by the part of Bishkek-Osh road. This road connect North and South of Kyrgyzstan. Short stop at will for lunch in Kara-Balta city. This pretty city was a succesfull city in USSR time under Moscow control. So, if you want see a frozen soviet industry town as it is, well maintained - Kara-Balta best example of this.
The total distance of the tour path is 1200 km.
The team of one car can be 2 person. Cost for extra passenger – 250 USD.
The cost of the tour includes accommodations and meals 3 times a day, fuel, insurance for car, lunch maybe like snacks, fee antrances, horseback riding.

Requirements for drivers:
- Driver's age shall be between 21 and 65 years old;
- Driving experience shall be 3 or more years;
- Security deposit - 350 USD.
For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.
Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
