Almaty, Charyn Canyon, Kaindy Lake, Kolsai Lakes

A fascinating journey through the Almaty region by car. A comfortable, soft, all-wheel drive car will allow you not to feel tired from the road. On the way, you can organize parking in picturesque places to relax with coffee. Each tour is selected individually, taking into account the wishes of the guests.

The tour route passes through Charyn Canyon. Very close to Almaty, about 200 kilometers east of the southern capital of Kazakhstan, is the Charyn Canyon, which is absolutely not inferior to the Grand Canyon in terms of beauty and natural wonders.

Kaindy Lake is a truly amazing example of the creation of nature. It is located among a huge coniferous forest at an altitude of more than 2000 thousand meters above sea level. It was formed by a landslide of a huge accumulation of limestone, as well as soil subsidence. The lake is quite large and very deep: in the deepest places more than 30 meters. Once upon a time, trees grew in its place, now they are in the middle of the lake itself, giving it an already unusual look.

Kolsai is located on the northern slope of the Tien Shan mountains, in the southeast of Kazakhstan. The border of the park is 120 kilometers east of Almaty. If you love pure nature, you should visit this wonderful place. This is a fairly popular destination among nature lovers and tourists. All alpine lakes are surrounded by coniferous forest. The view is amazing. The lower lake is about 1 km long, 400 meters wide and 80 meters deep. The middle lake is the largest of the three and reaches a depth of 50 meters. The upper lake is surrounded by fir trees and alpine meadows. It is located 6 km from the Sara-Buluk pass and Kyrgyzstan.

The Assy Alpine Plateau is an incredibly beautiful place and a huge summer pasture (Zhailau). In ancient times, there were caravans of merchants from Europe to China and India. Nowadays, an observatory is built in the upper part of the plateau, in which one of the largest telescopes in the world is installed. The plateau extends to the East for 40 km, to the Bartogai reservoir.

In late spring and summer, incredible landscapes of mountain expanses and green pastures open on the plateau, with herds of sheep and herds of horses grazing on them.

Having reached the plateau, we will reach the observatory, and also stop at several beautiful places for walking, photographing and picnicking.
