At the beginning we will overcome a long ascent and then start to move downhill, after we will find ourselves in the middle of wide valley of the gorge, which is called Moon Glade. The way to the glade will take about 30 minutes. Next, we will cross the river and begin to climb up along the rocky path to the waterfall. It will take about 30 minutes. Having rest and eating snacks at the waterfall, swimming in the waterfall upon your wish. Further we descend along the ascent line and from Moon Glade we will take left way along the path, which is steeply taking up serpentines. After reaching top of the ridge, we can relax on the bench, have a picnic and admire the slopes of Rocky peak , located nearby. Next we have to cross two more small ridges, after that we will see panorama of charming Big Almaty Lake in front of us. Time for photos, rest and snacks. Further our path will run along the road, and if we go in the opposite direction higher we will get to the border with neighboring Kyrgyzstan Republic. About half an hour and we will be at the dam, where border guard officers are usually on duty, because the lake is a strategic object and its water is used to supply Almaty city by drinking water.
