Route of program day by day: 

Day 1. Airport – Bishkek (30 km, 40 min)

We will pick you up at the airport / border point and drop you off at the comfortable hotel where you can have a rest.

After rest and breakfast, the visit of the city Bishkek is planned. We will visit sights such as the central square Ala Too with its monuments and the Oak park.

After lunch at the local restaurant, we visit the famous market, Osh bazar. Just as you step the market, you plunge into the real oriental atmosphere: an interminable stream of people, a big variety of goods and colors.

Dinner in the traditional restaurant where you can taste the national Kyrgyz cuisine.

Accommodation: Hotel 3* (My Hotel / Rixon Hotel or similar)


Day 2. Bishkek – Burana – Chon Kemin (200 km, 3h)

Breakfast in the hotel.

Our journey begins with a visit of the Burana Tower. The Burana Tower is an ancient minaret in the Chuy Valley in the north part of Kyrgyzstan. The tower with funerary monuments, earthworks, remains of the castle and three mausoleums – that’s all what last out of the ancient Balasagyn town that was founded by Karakhanids at the end of the ninth century.

Lunch on the road in the cafe or in the guest house.

Then we head to Chon Kemin gorge. It is a unique national park in Kyrgyzstan thanks to its beauty and rich diversity of plants. The incredible landscapes of this region strike the imagination. In the gorge you can walk in the surroundings.

Dinner and overnight in the guest house.

Option: horse riding, equestrian games, folk concert


Day 3. Chon Kemin – Toru Aigyr (Trek)

After breakfast, transfer to trekking point near Chon Kemin River. From here we start our 4-day trek.

The slopes of the mountains are covered with fir forests. We have a picnic on the way and we continue to cross the forest to the pastures of Toru Aigyr. Here we set our tents.

Dinner and overnight in a tent.

Trek: 11 km, +900 m, 5 h

Accommodation: Tent


Day 4. Toru Aigyr – Lake Kol Kogur (Trek)

After breakfast, we start walking towards Kol Kogur Lake at 2,500 meters. This mountain lake has a trapezoidal shape.

On the shore of the lake, we install the tents and enjoy the wonderful landscapes that surround us.

Dinner and overnight in a tent.

Trek:  13 km, 4-5 hours, +-200 m

Accommodation: Tent


Day 5. Lake Kol Kogur – Kyzyl Aska (Trek)

After breakfast, we are on our way to Kyzyl Aska Jailoo.

Dinner and overnight in the tents.

Trek:  15 km, +700m, -500m, 6-7h.

Accommodation: Tent


Day 6. Kyzyl Aska – Tamchy /Issyk Kul (Trek)

Today is the last day of the trek. From Kol Kogur Lake, we follow our path.

We go to Achyk Tash where the car is waiting for us and drives us to the north shore of Issyk Kul Lake, the pearl of Kyrgyz land.

In the guest house you take a shower and rest. If you want, you can swim in the lake and relax on the beach.

Night and dinner in the guesthouse.

Trek: 11 km, -1000 m, 5h.

Accommodation: Guesthouse Tamchy or similar


Day 7. Tamchy – gorges Grigorievskoe and Semienovskoe – Karakol (195 km, 3h)

After breakfast we visit the Grigorievskoe and Semienovskoe Gorge. These places are considered as one of the most famous attractions of the Issyk Kul region.  You can go for a walk, enjoy the wild nature around you and spend a nice time in this beautiful place.

Picnic or lunch in the cafe on the road.

As we arrive to Karakol we visit its famous sights such as the Orthodox Church and the Dungan Mosque.

You have dinner in the local restaurant and you have a rest in the hotel.

Accommodation: Hotel 3* (Karagat or similar)

Option: dinner with a Dungan family, boat ride, hot springs or visit the Museum of Petroglyphs.


Day 8.  Karakol – Jety Oguz- Barskoon – Tamga (135 km, 2-3h)

After breakfast we leave Karakol for Jety Oguz gorge.

The red rock Broken Heart located at the entrance to the gorge creates a special romantic ambiance in the gorge. You take a walk there for an hour.

Picnic lunch is planned or lunch in the yurt.

Then we go to Barskoon Gorge with the gorgeous landscapes. You go for a walk to the waterfall Tears of Snow Leopard.

In the evening you will enjoy a real Russian sauna.

Dinner in the guesthouse with a Russian family.

Day 9. Tamga – Skazka – Bokonbaevo – Kyzyl Tuu - Kochkor (170 km, 3h)

After breakfast in the guesthouse, we leave towards the village Kochkor and passing on the south shore of the lake, we will visit the Skazka canyons which translate as the “fairy tale”. Here you can find objects of surprising shapes and sizes. A real skyscraper or an animal can appear in front of you. Walking in the canyons (1-2h).

In Bokonbaevo, we meet an eagle hunter with his bird. You can appreciate the alertness and speed of the bird during the hunting. It is one of the oldest traditions of Kyrgyz nomads.

Lunch in the guesthouse or cafe.

Our next stop is Kyzyl Tuu village where the local family reveals the secrets of yurt production. This family is engaged in this

unique art from generation to generation.

Dinner in the guesthouse in Kochkor.

Accommodation:  Guesthouse (Mira Guesthouse or similar)


Day 10. Kochkor – Kol Ukok (Trek)

Transfer by car from Kochkor to Isakeev village (15 minutes). From here you start trekking to Ters Tor pastures, famous for their pure air and crystalline waters.

Picnic during the trek.

Arrival in the yurt of the shepherds at Kol Ukok. You can stroll around and take pretty pictures of the lake and mountains that surround it.

Dinner in a yurt.

Trek: 5 h, +1000 m

Accommodation: Yurt camp


Day 11. Kol Ukok – Kyzart (Trek) (70 km, 1h)

After breakfast in yurt we walk back to the same point on the starting point of our trek where our driver is waiting for us.

Lunch in Kochkor in the cafe. Transfer by car to Kyzart (1 hour).

Dinner and rest in the guesthouse.

Trek: 4 h, - 1000 m

Accommodation: Guesthouse (Maksat Guesthouse or similar)


Day 12. Kyzart – Kilemche (Trek)

Breakfast in the guesthouse. Transfer to the starting point.

The two-day trek to Son Kul Lake begins. In the morning our local guide is waiting for us.

We will cross the Kilemche Valley which means in Kyrgyz language the "carpet", because the "carpet" presented by the variety of mountain grasses and alpine flowers covering all the slopes around.

We spend the night in traditional nomadic habitations: yurts.

Trek: 4-5h, 17 km, +- 200 m

Accommodation: Yurt camp


Day 13. Kilemche – Son Kul (Trek)

After breakfast we continue our trek.

Hiking offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the beauty of these places. Today, we overcome the pass of Tuz Ashuu (3400 m).

From the pass the lake Son Kul seems very small, but descending lower and approaching the lake, it appears to us in all its grandeur and magnificence.

On arrival at a camp of yurts at the lake, you meet the nomadic hospitality, their way of life. Dinner and night, we go under the yurts.

Trek: 5-6h, 14 km, +800 m, -400 m

Accommodation: Yurt camp

Option: horse riding


Day 14. Son Kul -  Bishkek (315 km, 5-6h)

We return to the capital after breakfast under yurt.

We will return to the civilization descending from the Kalmak Ashuu pass of 3400 m and passing again by the Boom gorge.

Lunch in the café.

Arriving in Bishkek we will have time to visit the local market, and in the evening we have the farewell dinner in the restaurant.

Accommodation: Hotel 3* (My Hotel / Rixon Hotel or similar)


Day 15. Bishkek – Airport - Departure (30 km, 40 min)

Transfer to the airport. Departure.


* To note: 6 people per a yurt. But in low season, you can be accommodated 2 people per yurt depending on availability. Toilets are outside. No shower in the camp.

Payment Method

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
