                        Route of program day by day:

Day 1. Arrival Almaty (140km., 4h.)

We will pick you up at the airport / border point and drop you off at the comfortable hotel where you can have a rest.
After breakfast we start our city tour. We will visit the Park 28 guards - Panfilov, named in honor of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. The Cathedral - a wooden structure built without a nail. Republic Square - the main square in Almaty is the largest and most beautiful park in the city with its magnificent ensemble of modern architecture, location, holiday parades, festivals.

After lunch we visit Kok-Tobe, a hilltop-viewing platform is located, which is visible from the beautiful panorama of the city of Almaty, as well as the endless horizon of the steppe area.

Day 2. Almaty – Altyn Emel (330 km., 4h.)


After breakfast we go towards Altyn Emel national park, located in the valley of the Ili River in the territory of Almaty region. The park was founded on April 10, 1996 in order to preserve the unique natural complex, archaeological and historical-cultural monuments, rare and endangered species of plants and animals.

We visit the Singing dune, located in one of the corners of the Altyn Emel National Park, between the mountains of Big and Small Kalkan. This sandy hill consists of very fine pure sand, which starts to "sing" in windy weather and its sound reminds the organ music.

Day 3. Altyn Emel – Charyn – Kol Say Lakes (350 km., 4-5 h.)

After breakfast, we are on our way to Charyn canyons. Charyn Canyon that is often called "Valley of Castles". The length of the valley is more than 2 km., width is 20-80 meters. It looks like the Grand Canyon of Colorado River in North America. Here you will have time for walking among columns and towers made by nature.

We continue our road towards Kolsay Lakes. Kolsay Lakes - "Pearls of the Northern Tien-Shan" - represent a cascade of three lakes. The largest lake is accessible for all visitors. It is the most beautiful lake, having a lack of civilization and the abundance of mushrooms. Horse lovers can order horseback tour to this place.

The highest lake is small. It is located on the border of fir-wood and the alpine meadows and amazes by its harsh alpine beauty, as well as the rich flora and fauna. The lowest lake can reached by car. However, you should walk few kilometers along mountain trails to see the second and the third lake. The water in the lakes is cold and clean. Here you can meet marals, mountain goats, wolves and even bears.

Day 4. Kol Say Lakes – Karakol (370 km., 5.5 min.)

After breakfast, we go to Kyrgyzstan across the Karkara border in order to continue our trip through Central Asia.

Lunch at café in Kegen village.

When we get Karakol, we will visit its famous sights as Russian Orthodox cathedral and Dungan mosque.  At restaurant, you can taste the typical dish of this region ¨ ashlan fu¨, Dungan traditional cuisine.

Option: boat trip, dinner with Dungan or Uighur Family


Day 5. Karakol – Djety Oguz – Skazka – Bokonbaevo (150 km., 2.40 min.)

After breakfast, we go Jety Oguz valley. Its name means “Seven bulls”. The name is symbolic, because there are huge red-brown rocks resembling ranked furious bulls standing together.

Especially romantic look has the rock "Broken Heart" located at the entrance to the gorge.

After we visit Skazka canyons, which signify Fairytale. Here you can find objects of surprising shapes and sizes. A real skyscraper or an animal may appear in front of you.

In Bokonbaevo, we will meet the real eagle hunters who demonstrate you the talent of their birds of prey (option).

Day 6. Bokonbaevo – Kyzyl Tuu – Kochkor (120 km., 1.45 min.)

Breakfast in the guesthouse.

In the morning, we go towards Kochkor village by the south shore of the lake.

On the way we stop in small village Kyzyl Tuu. Here you will see how the Kygryz family make the yurts and you try to set up with help of local the real Kyrgyz yurt (option).

Lunch in guesthouse or in local restaurant.

In Kochkor, the Kyrgyz women show you the process of producing traditional felt handicrafts (option).

Day 7. Kochkor – Son Kul (125 km., 1.55 min.)

Today we keep our road to Son Kul Lake, so we should overcome a mountain pass called Kalmak Ashuu. From the pass, Son Kul Lake seems very small, but as we go down and approach the lake, it appears as a big and gorgeous lake.

When we arrive in the yurt camp, you get to know the hospitality of the nomads, their lifestyle and their customs. We will have a dinner with the nomads and sleep in the yurts.

Note: yurt capacity 6 people. But during the low season you can be accommodated 2 pax per yurt according to the availability.

Day 8. Son Kul – Kazarman (152 km., 2.5 h.)

Breakfast in the yurt.

Today we travel to Kazarman. You will be positively surprised by the hospitality of the local population. It is generally known that the people in the south part of the country are very welcoming and friendly.

Day 9. Kazarman – Uzgen - Osh (255 km., 5-6 h.)

Breakfast in the guesthouse. Transfer to Osh. 

On the road we visit Uzgen town, one of the capitals of the Karakhanid State in the 11th and 12th centuries. We visit its famous minaret that is considered to be one of the best preserved monuments of that period in Kyrgyzstan. Lunch in the restaurant.

Arrival to Osh. We visit the famous Suleiman Mountain, one of the main shrines of the Islamic world in Central Asia.

Than we follow the way of all pilgrims up to the top of the hill where you watch a little mosque of Babur, The Great Mogols Dynasty founder, and take a bird-eye’s view of the city.

Dinner in the restaurant. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 10. Osh – Sary Mogol (220 km., 3.5 h.)

Departure for Sary Tach. Lunch on the road (lunchboxes).
During the trip you can enjoy the changing panorama of mountain trees, rivers and gorges. Cossing the Taldyk pass (3615 m). Then, the descent to the village of Sary Tach & Sary-Mogol.
Dinner and overnight at the local guesthouse.

Day 11. Sary Mogol – Osh (220 km., 3.5 h.)

Breakfast at guesthouse.

Today we are returning to the city of Osh to continue our journey.

We have free time to visit the local bazaar and enjoy the local cuisine.

Day 12. Osh – Andijan -  Fergana – Tashkent (480 km., 8 h.)

After breakfast transfer to the post-border Dostlik. We pass the customs formalities and entry to Uzbekistan. Transfer to Tashkent through mountains and pass of (2 268m neck) Kamchik, located in the Chatkal mountains range.

In Rishtan we visit the house of a well-known ceramic master Rustam Usmanov whose works are exhibited on world exhibitions. Enjoy a pottery workshop and have a look at ceramic collection in a small museum.

On the road we make another rest stop in Kokand and visit Khudoyar Khan palace and Juma mosque.

Lunch on the way at café.

Upon arrival transfer to hotel and check-in. Time to have a rest.

Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13. Tashkent – Bukhara (Train express)

Early breakfast at hotel. Drive to the railway station to take train express to Bukhara.

In the morning you will visit monuments situated in countryside of the Bukhara: the mosque Tchor Minor, or « Four Minarets », hidden in the alleys of the ancient district of the city, an example of XIX cc. monument; summer residence of Bukhara Emirs, Sitora-i-Mokhi Khossa, which was the second residence of the last emir of Bukhara.

Lunch at the local café.

In the afternoon there will be free time for personal discoveries. You can stroll around the former Jewish quarter and visit the synagogue or visit the workshop of Shavkat Boltaev and admire his magnificent photograph, as well as a visit to the workshop of the popular puppeteer-creator Iskandar Khakimov.

Day 14. Bukhara (city tour)

Breakfast at hotel. Discover the most mysterious city of the Silk Road – Bukhara and its magnificent historical monuments that attract thousands of visitors by their beauty.

Full day sightseeing program includes the visits to: Architectural complex Poi Kalyan, consists of three constructions built in XII-XVI centuries: madrasah Miri-Arab, mosque and minaret Kalyan – “Great minaret” is the main decoration of the complex; the madrasa of Ulug Beg and Abdulaziz Khan; Tim Abdullah Khan – a covered bazaar built in 1577; Magok i Attari Mosque is one of the oldest architectural monuments where you will find heathen shrines, the remains of a Buddhist monastery, a Zoroastrian Temple in Bukhara.

In the afternoon after lunch at café we continue to explore other monuments, as: architectural ensemble Laybi Hauz; Ark Citadel, a residence of Bukhara khans, a massive fortress, built and occupied around the 5th century AD; Bolo Hauz Mosque, built in the 17th century, was a place of prayer for the Emirs and their entourage.

Day 15. Bukhara – Samarkand (Train express)

Early morning drive to the railway station to take express train to Samarkand.

Our driver meet you at the Samarkand railway station and transfer to hotel to leave the luggage.

Start sightseeing tour to: The Registan Square (“Sandy Place”), the ensemble of three madrasahs is a unique example of town-building art, a remarkable pattern of the architectural planning of the main town square; The Gur-Amir Mausoleum – a world known masterpiece of Central Asian architecture, the family crypt of the great dynasty of Tamerlane.

After then we will visit a local family making Uzbek traditional sweets. The main advantage of Uzbek sweets is that they are prepared exclusively from natural products. You will have an opportunity to take part in preparation process.  

In the afternoon you will explore other miracles of the city: The Pearl of Samarkand – Bibi Khanum Mosque. Constructed in 1399 the mosque was compared on the beauty and shining with the Milky Way; the Siyab Bazaar, the most ancient and biggest in Samarkand.

Day 16. Samarkand (visits) – Tashkent (Train express)

After breakfast we start exploring other historical sites of Samarkand: The Shakhi-Zinda ensemble with more than 20 buildings, built from early XI up to XIV cc. Each mausoleum has its own style of decoration and great fantasy of skillful artisans; the Observatory of Ulugbek, the first observatory in Central Asia, built in XIV c.

We visit to the mausoleum of Hodja Daniyar, located near the healing spring and attracts crowds of tourists every day. Some believe that Daniel was biblical prophet others – associate him with fellow-soldier of Kusam ibn Abbas.

In the afternoon we drive to railway station to take train express to Tashkent. Upon arrival to Tashkent transfer to hotel and check-in.

Day 17. Tashkent (city tour)

Breakfast at hotel.

At 09:00 we start sightseeing tour.

The first discovery by the visit to complex of Khast-i-Imam (reconstructed in 2007), religious center of Tashkent. Architectural ensemble includes several constructions, built in XVI –XIX cc. Then you will discover beautiful madrasa Kukeldash and Juma Mosque.  Lunch time.

In the afternoon continue and visit to The Museum of Applied Art of Tashkent, the ancient palace of Russian diplomat Alexander Polovtsev that is transformed to the museum in 1938; Explore beautiful and unusual underground stations of Tashkent, after explore one of the biggest Bazaar of Uzbekistan, Chorsu.

Day 18. Tashkent – Departure (8 km., 15 min.)

Transfer to airport. Departure.

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
