Rakaposhi Base Camp Trek, 10 Days

ITINERARY:

DAY 01 ARRIVAL ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: Grace Crown Hotel.

Arrival at Islamabad International Airport and transfer to comfortable centrally locate Hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to relax and recover from the long flight to Pakistan. In the Afternoon for those who desire will be a tour of Pakistan capital of Islamabad and busting Bazaars of Rawalpindi. In the evening we have a welcome dinner. Overnight stay at Hotel 

DAY 02 ISLAMABD –MESHERA –BESHAM-KOHISTAN-DASSU –CHILAS Inn KKH:

After breakfast early in the morning we begin our journey on the Grand Trunk Road on the most engineering Karakoram Highway. At Hasanabdal we leave ancient GTR and turn right on KKH. Passing fruit groves (Lychee, orange, tobacco) and small crop fields before heading up to Abbottabad, a garrison city and hill station for escaping the summer heat. The winding path begins up to a high plain and down to snake along the Mighty of Indus River towered over by mountains and foothills of the Himalaya. Lunch at Besham. We pass through frontier-like towns of Besham, Dassu and Chilas. It is day long journey on KKH and approximate driving distanced is 13/14 hours.

DAY 03 CHILAS- ROCK CARVING-MOUNTAIN JUNCTION POINT-RAKAPOSI VIEW POINT –MINAPIN VALLEY: Oshotang Hotel
Driving to Gilgit we stop at ancient rock carvings and the meeting point of the 3 highest and longest mountain ranges – Karakorum stretching to China, Himalaya crossing India/ Nepal and the Hindu Khush crossing Afghanistan and central Asia. Drive to Rakaposhi 7788m the long mountain range take tea/lusnch with pretty view and drive through enchanting valleys we stop at some of the valleys full of colorful fruit tree blossoms. Peach Apricot and cherry make the mountains appear dappled in pink and white. Lunch here. Overnight stay at Hotel. At Minapin valley

DAY 04 MINAPINE VALLEY –HAPPAKU –RAKAPOSHI BASE CAMP:

Approximate walk 6/7 hours and Elevation 3800m.

Today in the morning we begin our first day trek Rakaposhi Base Camp trek. It is slightly Zigzag trails steeply about one hour to the first Hut. The Hut of Happaku valley is another hour up valley. En route we pass many lush green potatoes fertile fields and Shepherd Huts where the Shepherd grassing goats, sheep and cows on high pasture in the lap of Rakposhi mountain. This is a summer settlement camping. We stop at Hut side and greet our shepherd. They obviously offer a glass of Milk and Lassi. After sip a glass of Lassi we head to fully greenery Happakun with a magnificent view of Minapin glacier and valleys. Lunch here. From Happakun ascend a trail through forest with excellent views of Diran as you rise above the Minapin Glacier .The Meadows and shepherd Hut at Tagaphari are an ablation valley overlooking the glacier’s upper fields some 1500m above Minapin village. This is also a base camp for Rakaposihi .Walk up the 4000m ridge for the excellent view of Batura peaks, and Shishpar peak and Ultar peak above Hunza. Rest at camping eating, drinking and washing of the spring clean water. All meals is served by our camp staff 

DAY 05/ RAKAPOSHI –KACHILI –DIRAN BASE CAMP:

Approximate walking distanced is 5 hour. Elevation: 3800-4000m

Today we get up in the morning and make our breakfast with some eggs and paratha and Pakistani Mix milk tea. We will serve you breakfast at the lap of Rakaposhi peak (7788m) and Diran peak (7266m). After breakfast we pack our baggage and set out toward Diran peak walk on glacier. Our guide will escort you and show the mark on a right path. It takes about 5 hours to cross the broad glacier and reach Diran Base Camp near Kacheli. Many craves are falls here and you are strictly instructed to follow our guide foot print. We would recommend you to walk on moraine is the best way easier and safest for walking comparatively white glacier. Today we are in the core of the sky touching mountains Rest and lunch here.Enjoy your time around the camping side and we never let you to go beyond the Base camp just for safety issue. This small killer mountain is many times hosted of the world famous climber and some of climber couldn't give back to their families it has many craves from C1 to C2 on the climbing route. Many families has lost their loves children during climbing period. After fully discover and exploration we get back to our camping. Dinner is served by our camp staff. 

DAY 06 KACHILI TO RAKAPOSHI BASE CAMPING.

Approximate walking distanced is 5/6 hours. Elevation 3700m.

Today after breakfast we start our trek to Rakposhi via same trails on Minapin glacier with pack lunch. We will decent slowly from Diran base camp to Rakaposhi Base camp. En route we will take pictures and enjoy the mountains nature.. Hope to see Mountains Ibex and Yaks in this high pasture land on our back to Rakaposhi BC. Reach to camping. Resting, washing, cleaning of this clean water. While our camp staff will prepare a delicious cuisine dinner for you. Overnight stay in the tent. Approximate walking distanced is 5/6 hours

DAY 07 /RAKAPOSHI BASE CAMP – MINAPIN VALLEY

Oshotang Hote/ Diran Hote.
Today after breakfast we start our outbound trek to Minapin valley. For lunch stop at the same camping Happaku. Rest and continuous walk down to Minapin valley. Upon arrival to Minapin village we check in at Hotel. Evening leisure to enjoy of the natural and hospitable people of Nagar valley. Enjoy the organic foods of Nagar valley. Dinner will be arrange at Hotel; enjoy the foods at this lovely hotel restaurant.

DAY 08 MINAPIN VALLEY---HUNZA – –BALTIT FORT: Eagles Nest Hotel.

Approximate driving distanced is ½ hours.

We will depart for Hunza valley en route we stop at Nasir Abad, Murtaza Abad, Ali Abad and Karim Abad Hunza. Upon arrival to Transfer you Hotel. After a short rest we will go out for sightseeing of around the Karimabad village. .. Karim Abad is capital of Hunza valley and here two historical Forts Altit and Baltit Fort which were occupied by Hunza rulers .It is more than 700 and 900 here old forts. . The state bordered the Gilgit Agency to the south and the former princely state of Nagar to the east. The state capital was the town of Baltit (also known as Karimabad Hunza was an independent princely for more than 900 years. The British gained control of Hunza and the neighboring valley of Nagar between 1889 and 1892 through a military conquest. The then Mir/Tham (ruler) Mir Safdar Ali Khan of Hunza fled to Kashghar in China..Hunza valley is a mountainous valley with a diversity of culture. This valley generation is descended from Alexander the Great troops. Overnight stay at Hotel.

DAY 09 HUNZA TO BESHAM: Besham Continental Hotel/ Hilton Hotel.

Approximate driving distanced is 12/13 hours:

Today we start our outbound journey on Karakorum Highway to Besham valley along the Indus river .En route stop for Lunch at Chilas. After a quick lunch we continuous our journey to Besham. End route we stop for tea and toilet break. Karakorum Highway is the Eighth wonder of the world. This is only overland way to access Pakistan China and connecting with central Asia. Contraction period is 1966 to 1978 by Chinese and Pakistani engineers. Overnight stay at Hotel

DAY 10 BESHAM –TAXILA -ISLAMABAD:  

After breakfast we will depart for Islamabad on the way visit to Taxila Museum. Taxila is very popular for the center of Ghandhara civilization. Ancient Taxila was situated at the junction of South Asia and Central Asia .The origin of Taxila city goes back to 1000 BCE. Some ruins date back to 6th century BCE. Here Mauryan Empire, Indo Greek, and Kushan Empire period .After it we visit Faisal Masque and major shopping markets Dinner at local Restaurant .After dinner Airport Transfer.

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
