Activity: Lun nomad family- Bogd Khan National Park- Terelj National Park trip – Ulaanbaatar city
Day1. Around 9 a.m. and drive out of the city to Hustai National Park. This area is home to the Mongolian wild horse known as Perzevalski horse (takhi) with unique landscape that features mountain and steppe we will drive for wildlife observation a southern valley in Ungut Mountain national park and to see Ungut, a monument ensemble consisting of man stones from the 6-8th centuries. Having a lunch box. Continue to explore the national park and hiking to see the wild horses in their natural habitat. There is a great opportunity to take a photo for these endangered horses. If you are lucky, you can see fox, deer, roe deer, eagle, and more animals and birds. We will sleep with a local nomadic family to experience firsthand how people live in the countryside, a lifestyle which has not changed since centuries. Here you can help the herders with their daily tasks to get an idea of how nomadic people alongside their livestock. B+L+D
Day2. Bogd Khan National Park- Terelj National Park trip
In the morning at 9 a.m. our tour will continue to Terelj National Park, which is one of the most visited national parks in Mongolia. On the way, we will visit Bogd Khan National Park & Manzushir monastery. The monastery had over 20 temples and was once home to at least 300 monks but was destroyed in the 1930s. Upon arrival a local canteen has lunch. Then take a short drive to see Turtle Rock and visit Ariyabal meditation temple surrounded by scenic mountains with massive rock formations and sit at the top of the mountain. From the top, you can enjoy the breathtaking view overlooking Terelj National Park. Overnight Ger guesthouse. B+L+D
Day3. Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue – Ulaanbaatar city
Relaxing breakfast, we will horse riding 1 hour. Afterward, we will return to Ulaanbaatar. On the way, we will visit “Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue” which is currently the biggest (40 meters high) statue in the world. There is a recreation area, restaurants, and souvenir shops occupy the base structure. From here, you can ascend to the head of the horse using an elevator. There you have a good panoramic view of the complex area and the scenery beyond. Lunch served on the way. Afterwards, we will return Ulaanbaatar capital city, will arrive at a hotel or guesthouse. For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.
Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
