2PAX PRIVATE RURAL TOUR IN ARMENIA
Day 1. Arrival in Yerevan. Transfer to the hotel. City tour: Victory Park and Mother Armenia statue. Republic Square. Tour to Matenadaran – research institute and museum, which holds one of the World's richest depositories of medieval manuscripts and books. Visit Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex and Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, Opera House, Architectural complex Cascade, Cafesjian Modern Art Museum; the aim of the museum is to bring the best of contemporary art to Armenia and present the best of Armenian culture to the world. Drive northeast and visit Garni Pagan Temple and Geghard spear monastery. GUM dried fruit market. Lunch at the authentic Armenian tavern.
Day 2. Tour to Echmiadzin – the spiritual center of Armenia, where Pontifical Residence of Catholicos of All Armenians – the head of Armenian Apostolic Church is located. The city is just about 20 km from Yerevan. Here we'll visit the 4th-century Echmiadzin Cathedral, Echmiadzin treasury, where the lance that pierced the side of Christ by the Roman soldier is also exposed. We will head to Arshaluys village where you can be acquainted with Khachkar Armenian stone art. Armenian thin bread Lavash baking master class and traditional lunch are included. We will visit Zvartnots Cathedral, which is considered as a masterpiece of early medieval Armenian architecture, and listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to Yerevan.
Day 3. Tour to Ashtarak. Monastery complex Hovhannavank which is located on the edge of rocky cliffs of the river Kasakh picturesque gorge. The oldest building of the complex - one-nave basilica built in the 4th century by Gregory the Illuminator. Saghmosavank, built in the 13th century. In the library near the main church of the monastery, lots of parchments were written and painted. Without any deviations from the route, we will take a brief stop near the East slope of Aragats and visit the Armenian Alphabet Monument. Lunch with Armenian traditional dishes in the guest house in Ashtarak. Master class of Armenian pastry Arishta and sweet Sujukh are included. Return to Yerevan.
Day 4. Tour to Sevan Lake, one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world. Visit the Sevanavank monastery. Drive to Dilijan, a lush town and a unique settlement with its natural and climatic conditions. Lunch will be organized in Pambak village near Vanadzor city, the third biggest in Armenia. You will enjoy with Fairytale House, where the Armenian Festivals, Rituals, Environment, Dances, and Music are presented. Overnight in Dilijan.
Day 5. Early in the morning, we will head to Gosh village, where the medieval Armenian priest Mkhitar Gosh, the author of the first criminal code built a fairy tale Goshavank monastery. In Martuni village we will take a course in alternative medicine based on honey bee products. This gastro yard offers the following services: Apitherapy Spa and honey making. Visit Haghartsin monastery. Overnight in Dilijan.
Day 6. The day we start heading to Noratus village, where the largest Khachkar cemetery is located. Cheese master class will be provided in the local family farm where you can taste various types of cheese made in wine and cognac and enjoy the warm hospitality of hosts. Selim Pass and Vardenyats Caravanserai. Armenian traditional lunch will be organized in the rural house in Yeghegnadzor. The next stop is the Jermuk spa city. Enjoy the “Mermaid’s Hair” waterfall in the gorge and evening walk in Mineral Gallery. Overnight in Jermuk.
Day 7. The last day of our trip is dedicated to winemaking. First, we visit Noravank medieval monastery, hidden in mystic red cliffs. Visiting the mystical Bird’s cave, where archeologists recently found the oldest one-piece leather shoe and a 6100-year old winery. Areni is one of actively developing wine regions in Armenia where famous indigenous red wine Areni is produced. We will not miss a chance to taste it at one of the local wine factories. Lunch at the house of a local winemaker David, who will offer us a barbecue made in tonir. The last stop of our journey is Khor Virap Royal Prison, where the founder of Armenian Apostolic church Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned. This site also offers a magnificent view of the biblical Armenian Mount Ararat. Return to Yerevan and overnight. Transfer into the airport.

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.
Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
