Nortern and Central Mongolian classic 9 days tour

The tour takes 9 days to cover one of the best travel destinations Center and Northern Mongolian in the shortest time with experiencing local culture along with natural beauties. Popular tourist destinations including Mongolian ancient city the Karakorum and biggest Buddhist monastery Erdenezuu. The including UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Karakorum city, Orkhon Valley), Karakorum ruins and museum of ancient Mongolian capital and oldest famous Erdene Zuu monastery. And Huvsgul Lake, the freshest and deepest lake in Central Asia, is positioned in a North-South direction with an oval shape. Its length is 133.4 km from north to south while widest is 39.5 km from west to east. This lake has a volume of 380 km3 and it is second in Asia and 14th largest in the world. Huvsgul Lake contains 93.6 % of the total surface freshwater of Mongolia and 1% of world freshwater. Huvsgul Lake is surrounded by beautiful high mountains of the Khoridol Saridag and Bayan Mountain Ranges. As well as Khorgo Dormant Volcano is the youngest volcano in Mongolia. Tsenher hot springs have been an important part of Mongolian traditional medicine. The water comes from deep reaching up to 90 degrees Celsius. There are a number of tourist camps in the area. And most important place is a Mongol Sand Dune. Finally it is the best experience of Mongolia and a very educational tour.

Full Itinerary

Day1. Uran Crater

Around at 10:00 start our trip and we will drive to the Uran crater. Uran crater or know as Urantogoo Uul biggest volcano in Mongolia. This volcano was active in the 3rd to 4th geological periods and exploded 20-25 thousand years ago. This mountain is unevenly covered by larch trees and the larch forest is still increasing in recent years. You can go short climbing to the Uran crater. B+L+D.

Day2. Murun city

After breakfast, we will drive to Murun city. Murun city (Huvsgul province) is the northernmost of the 21 aimags (provinces) of Mongolia. The name is derived from Lake Huvsgul. This city a transport hub in northern Mongolia that's also the center of civilization in this part of the country. It comes alive in summer when tourists pass through on their way to Huvsgul Lake. Day3. Huvsgul Lake

After breakfast, we will drive to Huvsgul Lake for 160 km. On the way, we will visit Khatgal town. There we will meet our local horse’s guide. Horse ride begins from Khatgal town! We will make a horseback riding trip alongside the shore lake and the surrounding with forest mountains to have a better look at the beautiful Blue Pearl Lake Huvsgul as well as we will meet reindeer herders and explore their lifestyle, customs, and sacraments. Day4. Huvsgul Lake

Today full day, it is free time for you to be on your own. There is a great opportunity to hiking, kayaking or just enjoy wild nature to take photos. Also, you can ride a motor-boat around the lake. B+L+D.

Day5. Shine-Ider

After breakfast, we driving to Shine-Ider. These stays among locals will give you the opportunity to share the daily life of your hosts and taking part in their tasks. You will be led to help to make dairy products, to take part in milking the animals or to help to round-up the herd.B+L+D.

Day6. Terkh White Lake

After breakfast, we will drive to Khorgo Dormant Volcano is the youngest volcano in Mongolia. Khorgo volcano is the only one which has no soil somewhere and no water inside the crater because Khorgo exploded much later that those volcano. The lake 10 species of fish such as Taimen, perch, lenok, and pike and including swan, shelduck, duck, gull, common heron and great white egret gather here. You can go short hiking a lake. B+L+D.

Day7. Tsenkher Hot spring

After breakfast, we will drive to Tsenher Hot Spring. The water comes from deep reaching up to 90 degrees Celsius. The night bath is great. Sitting in the pool drinking while seeing stars at the dark sky is one of the favorite activities here. B+L+D.

Day8. Mongol Sand Dune

After breakfast, drive towards to Elsen Tasarhai know as well Mongolian Sand Dune. The area is surrounded by sand dunes, hills covered with rare bushes and a small forest near a river. These stays among locals will give you the opportunity to share the daily life of your hosts and taking part in their tasks. You will be led to help to make dairy products, to take part in milking the animals or to help to round-up the herd. We will ride camels along sand dunes and enjoy the incredible contrasting view. Day9. Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast, we will head to Ulaanbaatar. Lunch served on the way. In the evening we will attend an amazing performance of Mongolian traditional music and dance. Overnight hotel or guesthouse. B+L.

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
