8 Lake horse riding tour

This tour more comfortable who can ride a horse because we will ride a horse quite a lot. But of course if you want, you can choose this tour. The Eight Lakes are called Shireet, Mukhar, Khaliut, Bugat, Khaya, Duruu and Khuis. Those lakes were created by a volcanic eruption.

Orkhon valley, registered as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2005. There are many of Mongolia’s ancient monuments lie within its basin. There is Orkhon waterfall also called UlaanTsutgalan, formed by a series of volcanic eruptions about 20.000 years ago.

Day 1. Arrival Day & City (L/D)
This day we will pick you up from the Airport and transfer to the hotel***. If you want, you can take a rest for a while and then we will have lunch afterward we will do a city tour. 

We will visit

- Zaisan hill from the hill you will be able to see the whole city. 

- Gandan-Tegchlen Monastery

- Mongolian National History Museum and we will have dinner and we are going to drop you off our hotel.

Day2. Khustai NP & Elsen Tasarkhai semi -desert (B/L/D)
This morning after having breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive to The Elsen Tasarkhai which continues 80 km long 5 km wide. Together this presents a unique combination of Mongolian mountains, forests and Gobi-type landscape in one location. Over there we will ride a camel for one hour and overnight tourist camp. For dinner we are going to have Mongolian traditional BBQ. Today we will drive to 280 km approximately. 

​Day 3. Kharkhorin and Erdenezuu monastery (B/L/D) 
We will drive to the ancient capital city Kharakhorin. In 1220 great Chinghis Khaan declared it as the capital city of his vast Empire. Today there are many interesting sites left to visit; the legendary turtle rock sculptures, Buddhist stupas and the ruins of this once great city to name a few. Erdenezuu - the 1st Buddhist monastery in Mongolia was established in 1586.

Today Erdenezuu monastery still shows its glory with collections of many priceless religious objects and incredibly beautiful Mongolian arts. It has a massive square wall, 420 meters in length each side, 108 Stupas & 17 temples. Overnight ger camp (about 290 km)

​Day 4. Drive to Orkhon Waterfall (B/L/D)
After breakfast, our horseback riding trip will start to Orkhon whose river flows an incredible 1120km to the north before it joins the mighty Selenge River.  Overnight in tourist ger camp.

Day 5. Horseback riding to Bodongiin am (B/L/D)
​Breakfast, Horse riding to Bodongiin Am, Lunch, continue horse riding. Stay in tents. (About 20kms)

Day 6. Horse riding to 8 Lake (B/L/D)
Start horse riding to Naiman Nuur- 8 lakes, located in the high mountainous area and the pineapple tree forest.  Stay in ger guesthouse nearby the Khuis lake (About 10kms)

Day 7. Naiman Nuur - Eight lakes - Horseback riding (B/L/D)
This day after having breakfast, Horse riding to Bodongiin Am, Lunch, continue horse riding. Stay in tents. (about 20kms)

Day 8. Horse riding back to 8 lake basin (B/L/D)
We will ride to lakes: Shireet, Mukhar, Khaliut, Bugat and Khaya. The lakes were created by the volcanic eruption. 11,500 hectares’ area of Eight Lakes has been protected under state protection since 1. Stay overnight in tents in lakeshore Shireet Tsagaan Lake, which is the biggest and 8-the lake (About 15kms)

Day 9. Horseback riding to back to Nomad family (B/L/D)

Horseback riding to the Khuis lake. Stay in ger guesthouse (About 15kms)

 Day 10. Drive to Tuvkhun temple
After breakfast, we will drive to Tuvkhun temple. The monastery is located on the border of the Uvurkhangai and Arkhangai province. It is situated on a flat rocky area on the top part of the Shiveet-Ulaan Mountain and is surrounded by wild forest and rock cliffs. Visitors hike 5 km up to the monastery from the skirt of the mountain. Overnight at Nomad family spare ger.

Day 11. Drive to Terelj NP (B/L/D)
Today we will drive to Terelj National Park which is considered one of the most beautiful worth visiting places for travelers who wanted to rest in surroundings near UB.If you like adventure activities such as hiking, rafting, horse or camel riding and visiting a nomad family and stay overnight in traditional Ger dwelling within a short period, this is the real place to fulfill your wishes.

Day 12. Drive to Genghis Khan equestrian statue complex (B/L/D)
This morning after having breakfast, we will drive to Genghis Khan.Khan equestrian statue complex to visit. The equestrian statue of Genghis Khan was built in 2008 on the occasion of the -hundredth anniversary of the foundation of the Mongolian Empire, in honor of its founder, Genghis Khan.

This huge stainless steel statue weighs 250 tons and is 40 meters (131 feet) high; it's the highest statue representing a man on horseback in the world. It's located 54 kilometers (33,55 miles) from Ulan Bator, on the banks of the Tuul River, in the place called Tsonjin Boldog and then drives back to the city to drop you off the international airport and Departure.

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
