One-day Baku city tour is a kaleidoscope of bright colors, Orient and European glitz. The land of fire, as Azerbaijan is often called, will reveal its entire beauty during this fascinating tour across the city. The country, located on the crossroad of civilizations, has absorbed the best of two worlds: ancient palaces, luxurious caravan-sarays, numerous artisan shops right next to grand skyscrapers. Discover the gem of the Caucasus together with me.
Start your walk in Icheri Sheher – the old part of the city. Visit Maiden Tower, Shirvanshahs’ Palace, Caravanserai, and market square with numerous art studios and souvenir stalls. Continue to Martyrs’ Lane, called ‘Shehidler Khiyabany’ among locals. When you walk through Martyrs’ Lane, you will find a beautiful view overlooking Baku’s coastline. Further, you will explore 19-20th centuries architecture: Nizami Street, Fountain Square, Nizami Ganjavi monument, Rasul-Zade Street. An excellent round-up of the city tour will be a visit to the National Carpets Museum, the richest bank of Azeri carpets. Excursion will be finalised with a drop-off at your hotel/place. End of the tour.
