Experience Rural Azerbaijan in Lahic
The little village of Lahic, known for its coppersmiths and carpet makers, is a superb place for travelers to experience the traditional rural life and culture heritages in Azerbaijan. Walking along the stone-paved street Kuc, you can see workshops of the traditional local handicrafts, where the craftsmen are happy to be watched and photographed engraving intricate patterns.
Currently inhabited by 860 people, Lahic is one of the most ancient human settlements in Azerbaijan, an example of early human urbanization and architecture dating back to almost 1,000 years shown by its cobbled streets and squares, its sewerage systems and water pipelines.
