Tour in the Land Of Nomads, Kyrgyzstan, 8 Days
Day 1: Bishkek – Ala Archa – Bishkek
Your guide will pick you up at Manas International Airport and accompany you to the capital city of Kyrgyzstan, just a 30-minute drive from the airport. The first half of the day is dedicated to a guided tour of Bishkek. It includes visiting Pobeda Square (Victory Square), Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Central Ala-Too Square, the History Museum, National Philharmonic, and many others places of interest. In the afternoon we will visit Ala Archa gorge. It is a Natural Park. At the Soviet Time only V.I.P. people had permission to go for a walk here. The Ala Archa gorge is on a spur of the Tien Shan mountain range. It is just 45 km from Bishkek. You can have a short hiking tour to see a panoramic view of the gorge. Afterwards we return to Bishkek. A traditional dinner will be organized at 7 o’clock. This overnight will be in a hotel.
Day 2: Bishkek – Kyzyl Oi
In the morning we will visit our Asian Bazaar. We will show it to you today and you will be able to take a lot of dynamic photos of bustling local life. This bazaar is a noisy and colorful tapestry of fabrics, produce, and people selling and buying goods. After lunch we start our drive to Kyzyl Oi village. The road travels through the southern part of Kyrgyzstan. During the journey be prepared for amazing views of impressive mountains and gorges. Today you will see the panoramic views of Tue Ashuu pass which is more than 3000 meters high. This road is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Kyrgyzstan. You will have many opportunities for photo stops to remember this day. The night you will spend in a home stay. A Kyrgyz family will prepare a traditional dinner for you.
Day 3: Kyzyl Oi – Son Kul
After breakfast we start our drive to the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan – Son Kul Lake. This lake is surrounded by mountains and it is the highest alpine lake in Kyrgyzstan, situated at an altitude of 3013 meters above sea level. Kyrgyz nomads started to come to this wonderful area with their families for rest and relaxation. Herders of the Naryn region come to the lake to use it as a pastureland. After our arrival, you will be free to explore and enjoy the virgin nature of the lake and its surroundings. Dinner and overnight is in nomadic collapsible dwellings - yurts. They are made of a wooden skeleton, covered with felt coverings.
Day 4: Son Kul – Tash Rabat
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Tash Rabat Caravanserai on the Great Silk Road (Stone Castle from the 14th century). The building is unique. Tash Rabat is located at the very heart of Tian Shan Mountains. Tash Rabat was built of stone blocks inside a mountain at an elevation of 3200 m above sea level. In total there are 31 rooms in the mountain. The walls are 1 m thick. There are also underground prison cells formerly used to incarcerate thieves in ancient times. There will be a traditional dinner and the night will be spent in yurts near Tash Rabat Caravanserai.
Day 5: Tash Rabat – Kochkor
In the morning you will be transferred to Kochkor village. The road will go along amazing gorge and you will drive today over mountain pass that is 3 000 meters high. In Kochkor village you will spend some time with a family that will show you the way our national felt carpets are produced. You even can create your own carpet together with them. Also you will visit a small handicraft museum there. They have many examples of silver decorations, coats made of wolfs, horse saddle decorations, carpets and many other things. Night will be in a home stay.
Day 6: Kochkor – Karakol
Today you will be transferred to the celestial Issyk Kul Lake, the second largest alpine lake in the world. The lake is called "the pearl of Central Asia". For more than 1 500 years local people considered the lake to be a sacred one. You can come up to the lake and to see mountains all around it. We will have a break in Bokonbaeva village, where we will visit a local eagle-hunter. He hunts hares and foxes with the help of eagles (traditional way of nomads hunting). Then is transfer to famous gorge of Jeti Oguz, Red Rocks. Also you will see there the Broken Heart Mountain. Then we continue our way to Karakol town. Night is in a guesthouse.
Day 7: Karakol – Chon Kemin
In the morning we will visit the Dungan mosque. It was built in Chinese style without using a single metal nail. This will be followed by the visit of an old wooden Orthodox Church. Afterwards you will be transferred to Issyk Kul Lake. This time we will drive along the southern shore of Issyk Kul Lake. This is a great chance to see the whole lake from all sights. It is not just the biggest mountain lake in Central Asia but also the favorite place for swimming in summer time. People come to have a rest to the lake from the whole neighbor countries. In the afternoon you will visit a small local museum that has examples of handicraft, music instruments and a lot of artifacts. Your dinner and night will be in a home stay in Chon Kemin village.
Day 8: Chon Kemin – Bishkek
In the morning we will have 3 hours of horse riding. Your route will go high in the mountains and you will even ride horses through a mountain forest. On the top you will see the panorama view of the gorge. Today you transfer to Bishkek city. On route you will visit Burana Tower. It is a minaret from the 11th century. Burana Tower was used during the Great Silk Road as a sign for travelers that there was a city to have a rest. Nearby you will see an open air museum of Balbans (stone warriors). These grave stones that look like warriors – they were made in honor of brave soldiers that died for their Motherland. After an interesting excursion and climbing on the top of the tower is transfer to the Kyrgyz capital. Traditional dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Night is in a hotel.
Day 9: Flight
In the morning is transfer to airport.

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
