Explore Western Mongolia and Gobi

Day1.  Fly from Ulaanbaatar to Bayan Ulgii Province. Meet your expedition team at the Ulgii airport and start driving to Tavan Bogd Mountains. Reach to Tsagaan Gol Valley.

Day2. After breakfast, ride a horse towards Base Camp. It is time to experience scenic view of After Altai Mountains. Camels will be loaded with our travel gears. You will be gradually ascending towards Holly Five peaks of Tavan Bogd. Trekking path is moderate and you will be getting rest time to time and enjoying majestic snowcapped mountains, very good opportunity to take photos of surrounding wild nature. On the way there would be crystal clear small streams and some muddy areas. After trekking about 5 to 6 hours depending on your speed, you will arrive to Base Camp to get ready for the next big day of climbing Malchin peak.

Day3. Hike to the Malchin mountain it is one of the main Holy Five. We will explore the area and make some steps on the glacier.

Day4. Ride a horse back to the Tsagaan gol valley. On the way we will visit a local nomadic Tuvan family. We will be known hospitality of nomads of Tuvan people. Camping.

Day5. Trek to Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain. You will experience petroglyphs from Hunnu civilization and explore beautiful sceneries of surrounding environment. This mountain is worshipped by local Tuvan shamans and luckily you will encounter many wild animal including ibexes.

Day6. Start driving to Khoton and Khurgan Lakes. On the ride edge of a lake there are majestic Snowcapped Altai mountains covered by forest. It is like Switzerland with nomads. Local Kazakh nomads spend their summer time along the lake. You will visit some families to experience their nomadic hospitality. There are some historical sites such as balbal stones from Turkish civilization.

Day7. : Hike to Baga Turgen’s waterfall. We are still in the Altai Tavan Bogd National park when we are here. With the forest on the sides of a high snowcapped mountains this area rich in lakes and fresh water.

Day8. Drive to Dayan Lake and stay with an eagle hunter’s family. Experience eagle hunter’s skills how he trains his eagle and feel nomadic hospitality.

Day9. Stay in Dayan Lake and explore the surrounding landscape.

Day10. Drive to Ulgii

Day11 Drive to Tsenkheriin Agui cave Khovd province,

The cave contains many figures and most of the major images have painted onto the walls using mineral pigments. You can find mammoths, ostriches, kannada antelopes and much more paintings. The animals appear to be in motion and scientists believe age of drawings of the cave is approximately 40000 years old.

Day12. Drive to Altai city Gobi Altai province,

Day13. Drive to Bogd village Bayankhongor province,

Day14. Drive to Bayanlag, travel across the vast steppe towards the incredible landscapes of the Gobi. Drive to the the dramatic paleontological sites. 

Day15. Drive to Khongorin els Sand dunes at Gobi desert. This 180km lon, 3-15 km wide and 15-20m high sand dune is situated in Umnugobi province. Hundreds of sand dunes will be appeared from the sand dune top. The scenery is brillint with a rocky mountain on the south, sand dunes in the center and oasis on the north. There are many cave paintings dating back to the Bronze age on the rocks of Mount.

Day16.Drive to Bayanzag at Gobi desert. This is a place of home to wild camels, extremely rare Gobi bear, argali sheep, ibexes and snow leopards. Its climate is the hottest , too that is above +30/+40 C in summer. It is the place where large numbers of dinosaurs’ findings are found.

Day17. Drive to Ongiin Khiid. Ongi Monastery is the collective name for the ruins of two monasteries that face each other across the Ongi River in Saikhan-Ovoo district of Dundgovi Province, in south-central Mongolia. 

Day18. Drive to Khustain national park. Khustain National Park, one of the well known and prestigious special protected areas in Mongolia. We will be able to see unique wild horse – Takhi.  As the successful implementation of the project today we have over 220 takhi in the park.

Day19. Drive to Ulaanbaatar

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
