Dushanbe to Tashkent, via Pamir Highway - 12 days

Traverse the Pamir Highway - The second highest international highway in the world, the least-visited, but one of the most beautiful, mountain ranges in the world. See multiple cultures and lifestyles spread throughout gorgeous mountain valleys, sneak up the 4000 m passes, admire 7000 m peaks, dip down into the legendary Wakhan Corridor - following the Afghan border for more than 500 km in one of the grandest valleys you will ever witness and finally, experience the famous Pamiri hospitality in an area of the world that has remained well-hidden to outsiders.


Day 1: Arrive Dushanbe. Sightseeing of Dushanbe. Visiting national museum, Kokhi Navruz palace, Botanical garden and walking around Dusti square and Rudaki Park

Day 2: Dushanbe - Kalai Khumb. Drive from Dushanbe to Kalai Khumb town in Darvaz. Visit ulbuk fort and Chorcaman resort en route. Ave lunch in a traditional Tajik house. (7-8 hrs)

Day 3: Kalai Khumb - Khorog. Drive from Kalai Khumb to Khorog, along the Panj river. Visiting Karon archeological site in Darvaz. (8-9 hrs). Arrive Khorog in the evening. Going for a walk to Khorog city park in the evening.

Day 4: Korog - Yamg. In the morning visit the Khorog Botanical Garden and afterwards continue to Wakhan valley down to Yamg village. En route visiting the following sites:

Fortress in Yamchun

Bibi Fatima Hotspring

Night in Yamg village. Homestay

Day 5: Yamg - Langar. Start the day with a visit of Yamg museum and continue driving along the valley to Langar village. Visiting Buddhist stupa and hiking to see petroglyphs.

Day 6: Langar - Bachor. Drive from Langar to Bachor village on the shore of Ghund river, passing over Khargush and Koitezak passes.

Day 7,8: Bachor - Yashilkul lake - Alichur. From Bachor ride on horses to Yasilkul lake along the Ghund river. With an overnight stop in tents in langar pasture. Enjoy the ride with spectacular mountain scenery along the way. On reaching the Yashilkul lake drive to Alichur village for overnight. 

Day 9: Alichur - Karakul. Drive from Alichur to Karakul village passing the Murgab town, Akbaital pass the highest pass on this trip which is 4655m.

Day 10: Karakul - Tulparkul lake. Continue on the Pamir Highway to Kyzyl Art border, enter Kyrgyzstan and drive to Tulparkol lake campsite under the in Peak. Enjoy the views of snowcapped mountains near the lake.

Day 11: Tulparkul lake - Osh. In the morning go for a short hike to take a view of the in Peak if the weather allows. Later drive to Osh.

Day 12: Osh - Tashkent. Visit Suleiman Too in the morning and then, drive from Osh to Tashkent. On this day you will cross another border at Dostyk and get into Uzbekistan. You will cross the border by foot and an Uzbek driver will meet you at the border and take you to Tashkent.

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
