Maximum of South Kazakhstan in 3 Days!
Day 1. Arrival to Shymkent.
Departure to canyon Aksu. The distance is 70 km from the city and 5 km short of the reserve. Driving out to see deepest canyon Aksu in Central Asia. During first stop we will observe canyon in location of closest approach the steep banks of the river Aksu just half a meter. Visiting the cave hanging over the river. Next we will go to next destination. Place the descent to bottom of the canyon and observation old bridge constructed in the beginning XX century. Picnic. Return to Shymkent. Kazakh lunch in national style at the festive table in my home.
Day 2. Trip to Turkestan.
Review of historical monuments in Turkestan including main Sufi shrine of Hodja Ahmad Yassavi dating back to XV century, semi-subterranean room for spiritual purification, Friday mosque, underground residence of Sufi brotherhood, Sultan’s seat, hamam, ancient mud castle in Kazakhstan. Departure from the city Turkestan to the village Shayan to see single medieval educational center of Kazakhstan and Muslim madrassa (college) with beautiful mosque constructed in Arabic style and dating to XVIII-XIX cc. Return to Shymkent. Lunch in Kazakh national dwelling yurt.
Day 3. Sairam
Last day we can drive to see Sairam’s medieval monuments built in the middle of XIX c.as mausoleums Ibrahim-ata and Karashash-ana parents of Turkestan’s saint, graveyard Arabic standard-bearer Abd al Aziz Bab, courtyard of the first mosque with single minaret of prophet Hydr in the country. Departure to the biblical Mount Kazgurt where Noah’s ark stopped to see location with Holy spring Akbura and hiking in the vicinity of the mountain. Return to the city to see Kazakh workshop with process preparation national products of felt, leather and metal.
