Description: Tulpar-Kol Lake and Tuyuk canyon is situated in a beautiful location among jailoos dotted with edelweiss, at 3,500 metres above sea level. It lies 25 km south of Sary Mogol at the foot of Peak Lenin (7134m). On any of the trips to this area, visitors can get a feel for nomadic life and see various birds, foxes and marmots. Routes of trek:
Day 1. Osh-Sary Mogol (225km; 4hdriving)
Arrival in Sary Mogol by Lunch, afternoon easy hiking around the village. Accommodation in guesthouse.
Day 2. Sary Mogol-Tulpar kol yurt camp (25km;1h driving)
Starting of the trek, driving to Tulpar kol yurt camp, walking until view point of Peak lenin and base camp
Up and down over Kok Chukur (3,700m) for excellent views of Peak Lenin and the climbers’ base camp on the opposite side of the Achyk Tash River (some moderate elevation gain). Return to Tulpar Kol Lake and spend the night in yurts.
Day 3. Tulpar kol-Tuyuk canyon (5km; 3hours walking)
After breakfast, continue along the neighboring valley where marmots can be seen peering their heads over rocks on either side, as well as the yurts of local shepherd families. Upon reaching the end of the Tuyuk Canyon the walls narrow, with the snowy peaks looming into view on the right hand side. Spending the night in yurt, looking up towards the beautiful mountain landscape of Peak Estonia (6202 m).
Day 4. Tuyuk canyon –Booke valley (5-6km; 3-4h walking)
Hike along the magical scenery of the wide Booke valley, against the backdrop of snow-capped, 3000m mountain peaks. Overnight and dinner is in tents on green plateau.
Day 5. Booke valley-Sary Mogol (30km; 3h walking further 1h driving)
Turn back over Kosh Korogon to an arranged meeting place for transfer by car back to Sary Mogol. Accommodation in guesthouse.
Day 6. Sary Mogol-Damjailoo (35km; 2h driving)
From Sary Mogol, continue by car along a good road for 25km to Kashka-Suu village. From here, the road deteriorates for a 10km drive towards the Dam Jailoo. Leaving the car, hike up to and explore the beautiful Kosh-Kol Lake (4 to 5hrs).
Set up campsite close the lakes dinner and night in tent.
Day 7. Kosh Kol –Kaman (20km; 6-7h walking)
The route takes whole day walking through beautiful untouched landscapes of Turkistan-Alay Mountain, on the way you will cross several of hills our camping place will be at Kaman jailoo in gorge. Spending the night in tent.
Day 8. Kaman-Sary Mogol jailoo (20km; 6-7h on foot)
Continue the trekking again up to Sary Mogol jailoo on the route it is possible to see yaks and so amazing view of north mountain area of kashka Suu. Spnding the night in tent at Sary Mogol jailoo.
Day 9. Sary Mogol jailooo-Darbaza Tash (stone gate)
Walking after breakfast, the road will take you through northern plateaus and past numerous mountain slopes. Along the way, you will see semi nomadic life of local people in jailoo. Overnight will be at Darbaza Tash (stone gate) in yurt.
Day 10. Darbaza Tash- overnight place of Jiptik
Cross the Jiptic pass of 4185 metres above sea level. Both sides of this valley are covered by Juniper grooves and in the bottom shepherds hay the grass for the upcoming winter period and can be seen wild look yaks. Lunch on the way. We continue trekking and stop in camping place after crossed Jiptik pass. Our overnight and dinner will be in tents.
Moving onward along the Akbuura River on direction of Kojokelen area, route is decent and takes approx three hours to beautiful Kojokelen village. Lunch in a guesthouse. This day will be day off, probably easy walking over Goluboi grot and waterfall by the village. Dinner and accommodation in guesthouse.
Day 12. Transfer to Osh
