Kakheti Wine Tour

The eastern region of Kakheti is Georgia’s wine country. Hundreds of different grapes are grown here and every village has its own particular variety. Almost everywhere you go in Kakheti, at almost any time of day, you’ll be invited to a glass of wine. Kakheti is also an area rich in history and was an independent or semi-independent kingdom for long periods. Here you’ll find the incredible monastery complex of David Gareja, many beautiful churches, castles and mansions around the main town Telavi and picturesque Sighnaghi.

The sightseeing tour starts in Sighnaghi – City of Love – as Georgians call the hill-town. It was built by King Erekle in 18th century. The Bodbe monastery is located 2 km from Sighnaghi and is a place of pilgrimage due to its association with Saint Nino, the 4th century apostle of Georgia.

Next we will move towards Kvareli for winetesting -Try to imagine a tunnel 7.7 Kilometers in length carved into the rock, filled with the best aging wines of Winery Khareba. You will never before have seen such a phenomenon...
