Route: Osh city – Arslanbop village – Jalal-Abad town – Kazarman village – Son-Kol lake – Kochkor village – Jety-öguz gorge - Karakol town – Altyn-Arashan hot springs valley – Karakol town – Issyk- Köl lake – Bishkek city.

Brief description: Kyrgyzstan is a country of mountains and nomads. About 90% of the country is mountains. This tour will take you through these gorgeous mountains and wilderness, beautiful lakes and rivers, villages with hospitality habitants. You will be able to visit the remote, picturesque villages tucked away in the mountains and stay in a village right next to the lake shore to enjoy the warm water of lake Issyk-Kul, take a dip in the hot springs.

Day to day plan:

Day 1. Osh. Meeting at the airport in Osh city. Small rest in a guest house, after breakfast or lunch (depending on arrival time) excursion around the city. Osh is the second largest city in Kyrgyzstan and it is the southern capital of the country. You will visit the throne of King Solomon – the Sulaiman Too which is protected by UNESCO, for market lovers you will have chance to visit the colorful and lively Osh Bazaar. Dinner out in restaurant. Overnight in guest house.

Day 2. Osh – Arslanbop. After breakfast transfer to Arslanbop. On the way, visit the mausoleums and minaret Uzgen (11 century BC). Driving will take above the stunning view of Ferghana Valley with stop for lunch picnic. After continue the driving to Arslanbob through the road which runs along the first border with Uzbekistan. Arslanbob is a small village located in the center of the largest walnut forests in the world. It is said that Alexander the Great came to rest here with his army and brought to Macedonia nuts of Arslanbob. Dinner and overnight in a guest house. Driving time about 3 hrs.

Day 3. Arslanbop – Jalal-Abad. Morning excursion to the waterfall in village after with Local 4wd car drive to forest and walk in the forest. After lunch transfer to Jalal-Abat town. This day you should shop for next 2 days lunch on the road. Driving time about 2hrs. Dinner out in restaurant. Overnight in guest house.

Day 4. Jalal-Abad – Kazarman. Driving the beautiful but gravel road all day through the mountains, remote villages crossing two passes. The road is possible to drive only in summer. Lunch/picnic on the road, dinner and overnight in a guest house in Kazarman village.

From mid July to mid August - For petroglyph lovers with adding 1 more day for the tour it is possible to make a day trip on a horseback to the Saymaluu-Tash valley, the name translates from Kyrgyz as patterned/embroidered stone. The valley is located at an altitude of 3000-3200m. and it is one of the largest in Central Asia, concentration of petroglyphs are engraved on basalt boulders. Geological feature Saimaluu Tash outputs are rocky basalt.

Day 5. Kazarman – Son-Kol. Another beautiful driving day to reach the Son-Kol lake passing the Moldo Ashuu pass at 3200m. The Lake is located at the alt of 3016m, the weather is very changeable. In one day there can be all 4 seasons. Afternoon arrive to the yurt camp on the southern shore of Son-Kol lake. Free time to explore the life of shepherds and the mountainous lake Son-Kol, walk or ride a horse feel the nomads life. Overnight and dinner in yurt camp. Driving 5-6hrs.

Day 6. Lake Son-Kol – Kochkor. Till noon free time. Explore the nomads life, ride a horse. Afternoon head to Kochkor village by Kalmak-Ashu pass at 3446m. Overnight in a guest house. Driving time around 2,5hrs.

Day 7. Kochkor – Jety-Oguz – Karakol. Short stop in felt products shop. Many people find that the quality is good there. Start driving towards Jety-Oguz canyons. Where is located sanatorium with the same name, it is famous with its medical spring water. Very beautiful canyon and gorge before make a short stop for very attractive rocks of Fairy-Tale canyons. Driving time 5 hrs.

Day 8. Karakol – Altyn Arashan – Karakol. Take a day trip to Altyn-Arashan valley with Soviet 4wd truck, Golden Hot Springs village. Lunch out in the peaceful alpine meadows with gorgeous scenery. Take a dip in the hot springs. Drive back to Karakol. Driving time about 4 to 5hrs.

Day 9. Karakol – Bishkek. Nice drive with stops for pictures and excursion in open air museum of petroglyphs in Cholpon-Ata. Dinner out in restaurant, overnight in hotel. Driving 6 hrs.

Day 10. Transfer to airport

Conditions of the program:

Equipment: Participants must have their equipment such as backpacks, desirable to have a personal sleeping bag, warm clothes, good trekking shoes, trekking poles, etc. (The whole structure of personal equipment)

Physical requirements: Participants must be in good physical condition, but don't need any special skills of mountaineering and horse riding. The differences of heights range from 600 m to 850 m in vertical elevation. The maximum elevation is 3 850 m.

Payment Method

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
