Only in Toktogul, we are organizing this spectacular and bravious game - KOKBORU.

Kokboru is the most famous game in Central Asia with the dead goat polo. It is a national sport of Kyrgyzstan, where it is played predominantly by Turkish people

In this nomads sport, horse mounted players attempt to place a goat carcass in a goal. During the game, you have the possibility to ride the horses of the nomads. You can meet with the real shepherds, and local gamers of kokboru. You will learn all the history of Kokboru and nominations of the local kokboru team.

The game lasts for 6 hours.

How to get to Toktogul

  From Bishkek: go to the western bus station. In front of Kazakhstan hotel are the shared taxi which drives to Toktogul. The price is 500 soms per person. In one shared car is 4, 6 or 7 people.

  From Osh: go to the central bus station. The marshrutka leaves only 7 am in the morning. Take the marshrutka drive directly to Toktogul. The price is around 400 soms per person, and it takes around 7 hours to get to Toktogul.

The price in the local accommodation in Toktogul is 550 soms per person with breakfast. Dinner is 250 soms per person.

The price for the transport to the village, where will be the kokboru is 3000 soms per person. To drive there and drive back. The price includes the lunch and guide translator, and horse guide.

The price for the entrance for the kokboru is 3500 soms per person. (The price will go to get the goat and fees for the players, normally for the winner. If you want you can take something to eat or to drink for the players. )
