This tour has less driving and more discovery and relaxing in one place. Stay in the comfortable Ger camp stays in the middle of nowhere. Many years of driving experience in Mongolian off-road without any road sign made our drivers drive less bumpy and find any place in any kind of weather condition.

Full Itinerary:

Day 1 Ih gazriin chuluu – Rocky Mountains 

In the morning, driver and guide will pick you up from your accommodation and drive to the middle Gobi- Ih gazriin chuluu. We will have a picnic lunch in the middle of nowhere. Ih gazriin chuluu is a wild, remote terrain covered by lots of layered granite rocks. It is the appropriate place to have a silence walk. It is not touristic place and has Argali wild sheep, wild goat and vultures. In this magnificent place, you can discover caves and different shapes of rock formation. You will hear only bird’s singing and small Gobi threes shake in the wind. Here, grows Gobi’s flora and nomadic families live around with their sheep, camel and horses. Afternoon, get the tourist camp and have dinner at the restaurant. And relax in comfortable tourist camp.

Day 2 Tsagaansuvraga

After breakfast, we will drive towards south to Tsagaan suvraga. We will arrive at the lunchtime at the restaurant of camp. Today’s camp reminds you of the silk-road period with its exotic interior in the middle of nowhere. You will be able to see the endless steppe just through a large glass wall of your room. After lunch, we will drive 3 km to Tsagaan suvraga – colorfull cliffs. Walk around the cliffs and see the endless steppe from the top of cliffs. You will see camel caravan, nomadic people; kind of serene life of Gobi desert. Relax in the camp.

Day 3: Black Gobi desert – Bronze Age’s Rock painting

Today we will stay in same camp, just drive for an hour to our destination. After breakfast, will drive through black Gobi desert. Somehow this place is like the other planet. The mysterious thing is in this remote desert, nomadic families live with camel and sheep as their ancestors from Bronze-Age. We will walk through black rocks – Gobi desert’s mountain and wander, read the pictures or messages remained us by primitive people. Discover the daily life and culture of human evolution. When it is not so windy, this place is the right atmosphere for being alone. Drive back to camp and have dinner at the camp. Stargazing, chatting around a table or just relaxing are possible activities. We will have time to relax today.

Day 4: Vulture Gorge- Yliin am

Today, after breakfast, we will drive to South Gobi desert. At the Dalanzadgad town, have lunch and drive through Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National park to Yoliin am. When we reach the park, we will visit a small natural museum. The main Gobi’s findings of minerals, the desert animal’s taxidermies, dinosaur fossils, petrified stones are in the museum. Further, we will drive through mountains to the In Yoliin am valley. In the valley, you will walk through a gorge with river stream 2- 3 km. During the walk, pikas on the land and bearded vultures in the sky appears oftentimes. The wild goat drinks water from the stream, which we walkthrough. Sometimes, in the evening or early in the morning we see ibex. After walking in the park, we will drive to the tourist Ger camp. And have dinner and relax.

Day 5: Camel trek, nomadic family and Hongor sand dunes

In the morning, after breakfast, we will drive to the south part of our Gobi’s destination Hongor sand dunes. The road will be fascinating Gobi desert vista, Gobi Guvan Saikhan mountain range locates along with Hongor sand dunes. In the other side, nomadic family’s Ger seen blurry in a Gobi’s mirage. The folk of camels, sheep and goat, horse graze just in wild nature.  Colorful wildflowers, nutritious grass spread the desert, the Gobi desert bursts into life. On the way, we will visit nomadic family. Families used to move by camel caravan, searching for water and grass a number of times a year. As they are nomads they live in as possible as a minimalist way. You will meet with them and find out their calmness and hospitality. If you want to give kids some pen, balloon or some sweet, they will be glad and curious to see you. Giving a small gift for kids is welcoming in the countryside. Further, we will drive close to get camp and have lunch at the restaurant. Afternoon we will ride a camel in the steppe.

Afternoon or evening, when the bright sun gets down, we will climb to the sand dune. The top of the dune is over 200 meters high and steep. Sand is loose. Your foot will stick to it. It requires a little bit of effort to get the top. After challenging yourself on a hot day climb up to dune, you will see brilliant sightseeing. Sand dunes and rocky mountain stay simultaneously in the endless lush steppe. Getting down is easier and fun. Drive back to camp 5-10 min and have a hot shower, and dinner.

Day 6: Hongor river walking

Today, we will stay in the same camp. Just walk through sand dunes and Hongor river. The river and green part is just beside the dunes. There will be Gobi’s wild wolf-berries in the bushes. Free activities like archery or walking and relaxing day.
 

Day 7: Flaming Cliff – Bayanzag

Today, after breakfast in the camp, we will drive to Flaming Cliffs toward the north. We will drive through bold black mountains. If you like a walk or climb to a mountain, just walk and have nice pictures from the top. We will drive through barren black mountains, lush steppe, the ground covered by wind-eroded black pebbles. You will enjoy the wilderness of Gobi Desert on the way. When we reach the cliffs, will hike through Flaming Cliffs and see how it changes the colour. Cliff was the homeland of dinosaur during the Jurassic period. From this place, very first time dinosaur’s eggshell was found in the world. Here you will feel completely silence and emptiness by seeing a panorama of red cliffs in the vast steppe. Stay in homestay Ger far from the camps and guest houses.

Day 8 Drive to Ogni-Gobi

In the morning, we will drive to Ongi-Gobi. It is a trans-destination from the Gobi to Green part of Mongolia. We will drive through the flat steppe. And arrive around lunchtime in a camp. Hike and see the ruined Ongi temple from the top of a hill. Evening, time is free. You can hike around Gobi’s river or just wandering around silent little black hills. Relax in the camp.
A day horse riding - 250 km

Day 9 Erdenezuu monastery in Kharkhorin city 

Today, after breakfast in the restaurant, we will drive to the central part of Mongolia. In the central part, we will see more animals and big birds like the folk of vultures, bustard and hawk. In the central part, nomadic families live more than the Gobi desert. On the way, have lunch in the steppe’s restaurant. In Kharhorin, we will visit the Erdenezuu Buddhist temple and history museum. Stay in tourist camp. And after dinner, you can walk to a mountain.

Day 10 Horgo volcano and Terhiin Tsagaan lake

Morning, we will drive to the north to Horgo volcano. We will see folk of yaks, horses and nomadic families. Stop for a photo for volcanic Orkhon river gorge. We will visit Tsetserleg town, where we will visit an ethnic museum and see the town from the top of a nearby mountain. Walk to Horgo volcano and visit Terhiin tsagaan lake. Today we will stay nomadic families spare Ger. The family has yaks, sheep goat and horses. You can see their daily life of husbandry. Here is possible to ride a horse.

 Day 11 Tsenkher hot spring

After breakfast, drive to Tsenher hot spring nearly 2 hours through a mountain. Relax a hot spring after our Gobi desert tour. Stay over in tourist Ger camp.

 Day 12 Hugnu Khaan mountain

The morning we will drive to a small village the Karakorum which was an ancient Mongol empire’s capital. We will visit the history museum and the Buddhist monastery Erdene Zuu. After having lunch in a local restaurant we will drive to Hugnu Khaan mountain, little hike through a mountain and relax in the camp.

Day 13 Hustai Park to see Przewalski’s horse

Drive to Hustai Park. To see Przewalski’s horse, the only wild horse left in the world. Since the park has protected nearly 25 years ago, the number of wild animals gathered themselves in the park. Marmots will entertain you all the way. You can hike in the park and see the wild horse.

Day 14 Drive to Ulaanbaatar

Today our 14 days Gobi and Green exploring adventure tour ends. We will drive 2 hours to Ulaanbaatar and transfer you to your accommodation.

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
