DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

01/MAR 2018: Day 1. Travel to Terelj National Park / Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex

Today, we will start our first-day trip driving to the eastern part of Ulaanbaatar visiting the Gorkhi Terelj National Park. Gorkhi Terelj offers fascinating rock formations, which it’s Turtle Rock against a background of pine trees covered mountains. The park is rich in flora and fauna and reminds of beautiful Alpine valleys. We will walk to the meditation temple of Ariyabal from there the scenery of park is magnificent. After all excursion to the park, we will drive to the Statue of Chinggis Khaan Complex. This is one of the biggest horse statue of Chinggis Khaan in the world. We will explore and visiting museums in the complex. Overnight will stay with a nomadic family in Ger.

02/MAR 2018: Day 2. Road to Explore White Cliffs

After breakfast, we will travel to White Cliffs, which we will be entering into the South Gobi, one of the wonderful steppes with ancient, magnificent bright colorful cliffs. Overnight will stay with a nomadic family in Ger.

03/MAR 2018: Day 3. Travel to Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park / Hiking to the Mukhar Shivert / Ice Valley

After breakfast, we start driving to the majestic Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park, Ice Valley where we will enjoy the incredible scenery one of the most beautiful regions in the Gobi area. Afternoon, we will explore and hike in the eastern valley of the National Park. The valley is an unusual narrow canyon with a stream that flows through the Eastern Beauty Mountains. In the winter, the stream freezes several km into the gorge. Some areas of the valley are continually sheltered from the hot sun. The large ice field that gradually melts away during the summer months. Overnight will stay with a nomadic family in Ger.

04/MAR 2018: Day 4. Discover Khongor Sand Dunes

Today, we will drive deep into the Gobi Desert to the Khongor Sand Dunes-known as the Singing Sand dunes. We will see the marvelous Sand dunes, some of the largest and most spectacular sand dunes in Mongolia that stretches for an extraordinary 180km long, 3-20km wide and more than 300m high. Sand dune climbing. Enjoy the Mongolian starry night sky. Overnight will stay with a nomadic family in Ger.

05/MAR 2018: Day 5. Drive to Bayanzag / Explore Flaming Red Cliffs

After a unique experience on a Bactrian camelback in the morning, we will gradually head towards to the Flaming Red Cliffs at Bayanzag. This area is famous as the American explorer and naturalist, Roy Chapman Andrews, led a series of dinosaur expeditions here in the 1920s. The dinosaur skeletons discovered during his expeditions are now kept in the Natural History Museum of America. Enjoy the sunrise and sunset on the wide steppe. Overnight will stay with a nomadic family in Ger.

06/MAR 2018: Day 6. Drive to Bulgan Enjoy Opening Ceremony of annual Camel Festival 2018

We drive to Bulgan sum and attend the opening ceremony of the festival and parade of camel riders. Visitors may participate in the parade if they wish to, joining the procession on camelback. We have been invited to participate in the camel parade and reservations can be made for any of our guests who would like to participate riding in on a Bactrian camel. The day’s competitions include “best-looking couple on camelback”, “most adorable male and female camels”, as well as a camel polo match that takes place in the central square. This will be a day of spectacular color and camaraderie. Overnight will stay with a nomadic family in Ger.

07/MAR 2018: Day 7. Annual Camel Festival 2018

The Annual Camel festival, held in the Gobi Desert, is a celebration of the endangered Bactrian camel and the role it plays in the lives of the Gobi's nomads. Camel Races and Polo Competitions are the highlights of the festival will surely capture your curiosity, as well as performances of traditional Mongolian music and dance, are among the highlights of this annual event.

Today the celebrations of the Festival continue and we will watch the camel race and competitions among local nomadic Bactrian camel herders. There will also be some other activities such as camel diary exhibition, local children involved drawing and composition contests. Overnight will stay with a nomadic family in Ger.

08/MAR 2018: Day 8. Travel to Secret Mountain Area

After breakfast, we will meet and join the Gobi Desert tour group, driving direction to the great Secret Mountain, which it locates in the central part of Mongolia. Arriving at the place, walking and exploring the area. This place very unique and it was formed by a unique combination of granite eruptions. Surround by high mountain peaks with green grassland. Enjoy a starry night and experience the typical Mongolian traditional nomadic herder family. Overnight will stay with a nomadic family in Ger.

09/MAR 2018: Day 9. Drive Back to Ulaanbaatar

After relaxing breakfast, we will continue on travel by our car for driving back to Ulaanbaatar, transfer to your accommodation in Ulaanbaatar and ending our memorable journey.
