Day 1: Dushanbe
Placement in hotel. Lodging for the night in hotel of the city of Dushanbe. Sightseeing
Day 2: Dushanbe – Khujand
Sending to the city of Khujand (by plane) where it is possible to see local color of celebration of Nowruz. You can take part in preparation of a national dish Sumalak which prepares only on the holiday Nowruz. Traditions which you will be able to observe are connected with its preparation (before preparation all women of a family, neighbors have to read a prayer, all night long stirring slowly Sumalak in a copper, sing songs, dance, read verses). Then you will have an opportunity to participate in the Tajik feast and to meet day of the vernal equinox.
Day 3: Khujand
We can suggest you to go to the central square of the city of Khujand (Dushanbe) where play national games (national wrestling “Gushtingiri”), (buzkashi, pulling of a rope, cockfights, archery), etc. And you will have an opportunity not only to observe, but also to participate in these actions.
Day 4: Khujand – Penjikent
Breakfast. Moving to Pinjekent on the valley of Von-Darya and the city of Ayni. Pinjekent is considered the most ancient city of Central Asia, to it there are over 5500 years. It is also called the Central Asian Pompeii.
We will visit the most ancient settlement of Sarazm which arose in the IV-II centuries BC. The excursion program includes visit of the mausoleum of Abu-Abdullo Rudaki.
Dinner at local restaurant. Free time. Night in hotel
Day 5: Penjikent - Dusanbe
Morning drive-return to Dushanbe and participation in the National fair where it is possible to try the national dishes preparing on this holiday, the Tajik mountain honey, to see and buy national clothes, products from clay, pictures and other national attributes.
