Welcome to western Mongolia! the land of gergeous Altai moutains and nomadic eagle hunter's. The land is huge and to visit all places needs a month, but we offer you a special planned highligh tour wish includes main attractions of region.
DAY 1: Arrive to Olgiy, centre town of Bayan-Olgii province. At the airport meet your local support team and tour guide. The majority of population are Kazakh ethnic people who are fomous with their anciebt culture of Eagle Hunting. Drive to Altai Tavan Bogd National park. Arrive to the entrance of NP. Stay overnight at tent.
DAY 2: Base camp. Today we will hike to base camp of Altai mountain. All luggage will transfered by camels and local herders will support. It is aroud 16 km and it takes around 5 hours in total. On half way we will have our lunch. Enjoy the panaramic view to Altai snowcapped mountains and Potanin glacier. Stay overnight at tent.
DAY 3: Climb to Malchin peak. It is located right on borderline between Mongolia and Russia, so you have oportunity to enjoy both county on top. Also to climb it is possible without any climbing equipment. Today you also have opportunity walk on glacier. The Potanin is one of the largest glacier in central Asia. Back to base camp. Stay overnight at tent.
DAY 4: Back to NP entrance. Today we will take a different train than we came, along the white river. The color of water is really white like a milk. The reoson is it takes start from glacier and the colourful dust makes it look white and it is not drinkable.
DAY 5: Drive back to Olgii. On the way we will visit a local nomadic Eagle Hunter's family. Explore ancient culture of eagle hunting and way of life. On arrivel to Olgiy we provide you a short city tour. Visit local Bazaar and Museum. In the evening dinner at restaurant with traditional Kazakh meal "Bes Barmah" which literally means Five Fingers. It is traditional meal with a lot of part of meat and to eat we use our fingers.
DAY 6: Fly back to UB
