Eagle Hunters and The Reindeer people combined tour, 15 Days

Photography Workshop for the most interesting activities, things and places  in Mongolia. 

Day 1. Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia’s bustling and expansive capital. Ride from the airport to your downtown hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure. L+D

Day 2. Early flight to Bayan-Ulgii (Western part of Mongolia) and drive to Eagle Hunter’s Family

Fly to Ulgii city and drive towards Sagsai soum/80km/ and visit Kazakh Eagle-hunters family. Meet the Kazakh Eaglehunter. See the magnificent bird of hunting-golden eagle. You can learn about eagle-hunting and horse riding. Overnight in nomadic winter house (Wooden) or yurt(traditional Mongolian nomadic camp). (B/L/D).

Note: Almost 80% of the Eagle Hunters in the world lives in Western part of Mongolia. You can feel great hospitality of Mongolian Nomads and learn their regular life style with culture.

Days 3-4. Photo-shooting of Kazakh Eagle Hunters and day with nomads.

The Mongolian Kazakhs use for hunting female eagles as far they are bigger than mail ones and more aggressive. These eagles are trained to hunt foxes, wolves, rabbit and wild cat. These days we stay with eagle-hunter and you can enjoy your photo-shooting, horseback riding and  go to hunt mostly fox we learn and enjoy this unique customs of the Mongolian Kazakhs. You can enjoy seeing spectacular and beautiful landscapes. And you can visit some Kazakh and Uriankhai(one of western Mongolian ethnic groups) families and meeting with the nomads when going through their camps, discovering of their culture and traditional activities. Every evening we stay with the Kazakh Dombro Player (traditional musical instrument with two strings). Overnight with Eagle Hunter’s family. (B/L/D).

Day 5. Drive back to Ulgii city

We will visit local black market, sightseeing place of the city and central mosque of Muslim people. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 6. Early flight back to UB and city tour

Today we will visit other sight-seeing places of Ulaanbaatar such as: Gandan monastery, local markets and so on. Overnight at Hotel. (B/L/D).

Days 7-8. Catch a flight to Northern Mongolia and drive towards Hugrugo village(overnight camping)

Today we will fly to Murun, a central town of Khuvsgul province. The flight takes 1.30 hours. Meet with a vehicle. In Murun, go to the interesting local market and prepare for the trip if required. Drive heading to Hugrugo village. Have an overnight among marvelous mountains while enjoying pristine nature and calmness.Next day, by the evening we will reach to Hugrugo village where we will meet our horse rangers. Overnight at camp. (B/L/D).

Day 9. Horse ride to the Reindeer people

We will start our horseback adventure heading to Zuun Taiga. There are two places in the depths of the Taiga where the reindeer herding people live in communities; Zuun Taiga (East Taiga) and Baruun Taiga (West Taiga) those are named after their location measured from the Tsagaan Nuur village. Entire riding to and from the Zuun Taiga is along wooded terrains with occasional open parts and some swampy areas. We will ride at walking speed at most of the time. The East Taiga is home to 20 reindeer herding households live in 1-10 family groups between 2 and 10 km distance. By the evening arrive to Reindeer people’s camp place. Overnight in tipi. (B/L/D).

Day 10. The Reindeer people

Today, we will remain in the same area, and our discovery and photo-shooting of the Tsaatan/Reindeer people will continue. We also have some hiking through the Taiga and along a mountain groove observing and familiarizing the area, its flora and fauna. (B/L/D).

Day 11. Ride back to camp.

It is a time to say goodbye the Reindeer people. We pack our luggage and mount on the horses. Ride back to camp. (B/L/D).

Day 12-13. Drive back to Murun city and Khuvsgul Lake.

We will take same way back to Murun city and on the way we will visit Khuvsgul lake, The Blue Pearl of Mongolia. Lake Khuvsgul is 136 km long, 36 km wide, and 262 meters deep and is located at an altitude of 1645 m above sea level and is frozen from January until April or May. It's the second largest fresh water lake in Central Asia. First night camping on the way and second night at Hotel in Murun city. (B/L/D).

Day 14. Flight back to UB and Terlj National Park

After lunch start to drive towards Terelj National Park and on the way we will visit nomadic families and other interesting things. The NP is situated 60km from UB city so we will arrive to our destination around lunch time and do check in our camp to stay. After lunch we will explore the area and visit Turtle Rock in the area. Gorkhi-Terelj National park is considered one of the most beautiful worth visiting places for travelers who wanted to rest in surroundings near UB. If you like adventure activities such as hiking, horse or camel riding and visiting nomad family and stay overnight in traditional Ger(yurt) dwelling within short period, this is the real place to fulfill your wishes. Day 15. Chinggis Khan statue and drive back to Ulaanbaatar.

Today we drive to Chinggis Khan equestrian statue at Tsonjin Boldog. Chinggis Khan equestrian statue is a 40-metre tall statue of Chinggis Khan on horseback, on the bank of the Tuul river at Tsonjin Boldog,(54 km east of the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar), where according to legend, he found a golden whip. The statue is symbolically pointed east towards his birthplace. Overnight at Hotel in Ulaanbaatar city. (B/L/D).

Day 16. Fly back to home country. End of the trip!

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
