Almaty city tour (one-day tour)

Almaty

Almaty is the largest city of Kazakhstan, located in the southeast of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau; the city's population is about 1.5 million. Although Almaty is no longer the capital of the republic, the city remains the financial, economic and cultural center of Central Asia.

A large number of business centers, theaters, museums, art galleries, exhibition halls and innumerable modern entertainment complexes are concentrated here (cinemas, night clubs, parks, restaurants, cafes and much more)

1) Park of 28 Panfilov guardsmen

The park received its name 28 Panfilov guardsmen in 1942 in memory of the heroic deed committed during the Great Patriotic War in the defense of Moscow by 28 soldiers of the 1075 regiment of the 316th Infantry Division.

The Ascension Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church is located in the center of the park. This unique wooden structure has a height of 54 meters. Built in 1904-1907, it survived a ten-point earthquake in 1911 and all subsequent. From 1929 to 1995 the building of the church was used as a museum. After his return to the Russian Orthodox Church and the restoration work, Orthodox services were resumed. It is a monument of architecture and history.

Museum of Folk Musical Instruments

Museum of Folk Musical Instruments named after Ykylas was organized in 1980. The building in which the museum is located (the former House of Officers' Assembly) was built in 1908. The museum has over 1,000 items of storage, over 60 types and varieties of Kazakh folk musical instruments, which were used by outstanding singers, improvisers, poets and composers of Kazakhstan.

2) Green Bazaar

Green Bazaar for more than 100 years is one of the most important shopping centers of the city. This place has its own special atmosphere of trade and the aura of people working and buying there. It is on the Green Bazaar of Almaty that you can feel the whole varied palette of the people of Kazakhstan, and even try on the spot)

3) The Central Museum

The Central State Museum in Almaty is a material reflection of the entire centuries-old history of Kazakhstan. Here are collected unique archaeological finds, from the prehistoric era to nowadays.

4) Kok-Tube

Kok-Tube ("Green Hill") is a mountain located in the immediate vicinity of the city of Alma-Ata. The height is 1130 m above sea level. On the slope of Kok-Tube mountain there is a famous 372-meter Almaty television tower - one of the original symbols of the city and its highest structure. From it opens a magnificent panorama of Almaty and the Zailiysky Alatau ridge with its snow-capped peaks. In 2006, the entertainment center "Park Kok-Tube" was opened on the mountain. In May 2007, a group of enthusiasts on the mountain installed the first monument to the group The Beatles in the CIS.
