Burkhan Bulak Waterfall (three-day tour)

Burhan Bulak Waterfall (Almaty region)

Burkhan-Bulak is the highest waterfall in Kazakhstan. One kilometer from the tributary of the Kora River there is one of the most beautiful natural attractions in the Almaty region - the Burhan-Bulak waterfall. Melting from a height of 168 m melting glacial water, breaking on the rocks, irrigates growing near the fir. The photo will not cause the delight that arises when you first see Burhan-Bulak.

The waterfall consists of four cascades, but, unfortunately, only three remained visible. Their height is 114 meters. The lower part is hidden from view due to the collapse that occurred in 2009. The best time to visit the waterfall is the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. Then, because of the melting of ice, the flow of water is much stronger. If you come later, the main sources of Burkhan-Bulak will be small streams.

Those who decide to visit these places need to know something about the climate. In winter it is very cold here. Sometimes the temperature drops below 40 degrees.

When traveling to Burhan-Bulak it is worthwhile to understand that the gorge is a territory of wild animals. According to experts, there live about 200 brown bears. There are eagles, vultures, golden eagles, wolves and lynx. In addition, it is inhabited by morals, mountain goats and argali. If you are very lucky, you can meet a snow leopard in the rocks.

Taking into account the changing weather and high humidity, always take warm clothes on a trip.
