Ak Tau- Katu Tau- Singing Dune (Altyn Emel National Park) -Kolsai Lakes- Lake Kayyndy- Charyn Canyon (four-day tour)
Aktau mountains -national park Altyn Emel (Almaty region)
Geological museum under the sky, limestone mountains Aktau. This is one of the most interesting and spectacular objects of tourism in the State National Natural Park "Altyn-Emel".
Millions of years ago in these places splashed a huge lake. Frequent rains and mudflows washed the land of the surrounding mountains into it. Here it was deposited on the bottom with red, white, yellow clays. Over time, the lake dried up, the bottom sediments began to wash off with water, blow off winds. As a result of erosion, low mountains were formed. The thickness of the lake sediments exceeds 1800 m, the water washed in them hollows and deep gorges, and the wind helped the water transform the landscape.
In the course of time, the mountains formed began to be called Aktau. In Kazakh it means the White Mountains. White mountains seem only from afar. In the canyons of the mountains one can find naked multi-colored dome rocks, towers composed of colored layers alternate with dry canyons, filled with calcite crystals. Landscapes change constantly - bastions, towers, small towns, inaccessible castles and canyons, there is no end to them.
Singing dune -national park Altyn Emel (Almaty region)
Singing dune in the territory of the reserve Altyn-Emel is one of the most unique phenomena of nature. There are many legends and legends connected with it. For a long time, scientists did not understand this phenomenon. And in the Middle Ages, people who heard the singing of a dune, believed that it was howling the devil's devil.
This phenomenon of nature is located on the right bank of the Ili River, 182 km from Almaty. In length the dune reaches almost 3 km, and in height 150 m. This is the largest known dune. It stretches for several kilometers perpendicular to the ranges Big and Small Kalkan. From the dune a beautiful view of the surrounding area opens: the Ili River and the mountains, as well as the Altyn-Emel nature reserve.
However, the uniqueness of a dune is not only that it "sings". It is also rare that the dune were formed in the area among the stone mountains. The reason for blowing sand from the banks of the Ili River during strong winds, which raise sand dust from the river banks. At the Big and Small Kalkans, standing at a slight angle to each other, the sand, driven by the winds, hits the stone ridge and, settling, forms stratifications. For many centuries, a huge sandy mountain has grown, which has been without movement for several millennia.
Lake Kayindi -national park Kolsay lakes (Almaty region)
Lake Kaindy - a truly amazing example of the creation of nature. It is located among a huge coniferous forest at an altitude of more than 2000 thousand meters above sea level. It was formed by a landslide of a huge accumulation of limestone, as well as subsidence of the soil. The lake is quite large and very full: in the deepest places more than 30 meters. Once in its place grew trees, now they are in the middle of the lake, giving it an already extraordinary appearance.
"Kaindy", in Kazakh means birch. Unique views of the lake are harmoniously combined with birches and needles growing in the gorge. His views do not like it. Especially beautiful landscapes open from the ridge of the skalnik: so you can admire the gorge of Kaindy, Sata, view the valley of the Chilik river. If you are planning to make an excursion to the water and natural expanses, a better option than a trip to the Kaindy's excursion is difficult to come up with.
