Tour Description

Immerse yourself in the rich culture of Mongolia in this complete 4-day tour of the Gobi Desert.

DAY 1:
Start the day by travelling from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia’s capital, to the south of the Gobi Desert. There, meet a local artisan who makes felt for a living. Let her show you her way of life and learn about how women live in Mongolia. Learn how to make traditional crafts. Later, meet a local family and spend the night in their home learning about their culture and customs.

DAY 2:
Travel to Yolin Am, also known as the Eagle Gorge, a valley covered in thick ice that is one of the Gobi Desert’s main attractions. After visiting the Eagle Gorge, travel to Khongoryn Els, also known as the Singing Sands. The Singing Sands are a vast collection of sand dunes famous for the particular noise the wind makes when it blows through them. After visiting the Singing Sands, meet a local camel breeding family. Learn all about the work they do with camels. You’ll also get a chance to go on a camel ride yourself!

DAY 3:
Travel to Bayanzag, also known as the Flaming Cliffs, named after the color they take when the sun hits them.
Spend the day hiking the colourful sands. On your way back stop by a monastery and small village to experience the local way of life. Drive to Dalanzadgad, a small city that connects the desert with the capital.

DAY 4:
Start your journey back to Ulaanbaatar. Stop for lunch in the Middle Gobi province. Arrive at Ulaanbaatar in the afternoon to end the tour.
