You will experience to build, take down Mongol ger and upload to the camel by yourself while you feel real nomadic life. You will see there an eternally clear sky, blue mirages, golden sands and boundlessly expansive steppe lands, wild asses, ibexes camels, mountain sheep and gazelles flourish here, as do different types of flora. That’s the Gobi Desert of Mongolia! Camel Caravan for 3 days
Day 1. Zorgol Khairkhan Mountain
The mountain noted “Secret history of Mongolian”. It has many caves and water springs. Lucky visitors, some wildlife viewing. According to shamanic custom, pronouncing the name of the holy mountains while visiting them is forbidden. Stay overnight in camping out.
Day 2. Bayanzag
It means “rich in saxual shrubs” is more commonly known as the “Flaming Cliffs”. It was formed 60-70 million years ago. The area is most famous for the first discovery of dinosaur eggs. Flaming Cliffs was discovered in 1922 by the explorer Roy Chapman Andrew, who visited in Mongolia. Stay overnight in a nomadic family’s Ger.
Day 3. Buugiin khar
We will start our three days camel caravan to the “Buugiin khar” place which is around 25 kms from Framing Cliffs and located in Bulgan sum of the South gobi aimag. We will load our all stuff to the camels including Mongolian traditional ger, food, water and everything /what we need/ during the camel caravan. When we arrive to the destination place we will build Mongolian Ger by ourselves which will create a unique feeling that you live in a real Mongolian nomadic lifestyle. Stay overnight in nomadic Ger.
Day 4. Tugrugiin Shiree
We’ll start our camel trekking to Tugrugiin Shiree which is small sand dunes and about 22 kms from Buugiin khar. What makes the Tugrugiin Shiree as a special is the only place of the “fighting dinosaurs” fossils was found first time in the World. You can still see some of dinosaur fossils are there. Stay overnight in a nomadic ger.
Day 5. “Khongoryn Els” sand dunes
After breakfast, we will continue to ride on camels from the Tugrugiin shiree. On the way, driver will pick you up and drive to Khongoryn Els. The Khongoryn Els is some of the largest and most spectacular sand dunes in Mongolia. We will see beautiful views, huge sand dunes and a cold water spring with a river that leads to two small ponds. Stay overnight in a nomadic family’s Ger.
Day 6.” Khongoryn Els” sand dunes
We will climb and hike to the top of the biggest sand dunes. There is an oasis near Khongor creek at the northern edge of the sand dune. The dunes make sound like plane engine in a windy day so it’s named as “Singing Dunes”. Also, if you wish, you may walk alongside the creek for about 10 kms. Stay overnight in a nomadic family’s Ger. Have Mongolian traditional BBQ for dinner (upon your request).
Day 7. ”Three beauty mountains” National Park
The mountains here are the highest in the Gobi Desert and the rocky scenery is quite interesting, especially until mid-July while the ice in a gorge remains. Some wildlife viewing. We’ll walk 3kms through a narrow valley, then 3 kms back to the minivan. Stay overnight in a camping out.
Day 8. Tsagaan suvraga
It is located junction of middle Gobi and south Gobi provinces. Tsagaan Suvraga (White Stupa) is interesting to see the sheer slope, facing east, which from a distance seems to be the ruins of the ancient city. Hiking is very good point. Stay overnight in a nomadic family’s Ger.
Day 9. Ikh gazriin chuluu
These Rocky Mountains are situated in Dundgov aimag. They spread out from west to east covering about 20 kilometers. There are many interesting stories about local historic people who had lived or had been hidden in caves from the royalties of that time. Stay overnight in camping out.
Day 10. Chinggis Statue
Chingis Khaan Statue Complex is a 40-meter tall statue of Chingis Khaan on horseback, on the bank of Tuul River at Tsonjin Boldog. Visitors walk to the head of the horse through its chest and neck of the horse, where they’ll be able to see a panoramic view of surroundings. 1 hour horseback riding trial. Stay overnight in a nomadic Kazak family’s ger.
Day 11. Terelj National Park and Ulaanbaatar
We will drive to Terelj National Park. We will visit Ovoo (a worshipped place/collection of stones) and cave. The Tuul River flows through the park. The park is interesting formatted rocks, and includes two famous formation named for things they resemble: Turtle Rock and the Old Mona Reading a Book. And we will visit the Buddhist temple. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
