One of the most popular tourist routes in the Almaty region is the Turgen gorge, the Turgen waterfalls and the open-air museum Altyn Adam. To get to Kairak Waterfall it takes 8 km in one direction through the forest along of Turgen river.
Charyn canyon - one of the most picturesque places and best trips in Almaty region.
A lot of visitors of Charyn then sayed that they saw in Kazakhstan small copy of the Grand Canyon. During the tour guests can visit a village of the uighurs with local food. Along the way you can make acquaintance with typical kazakh modern villages and citysetelments.
On the way we can see farm animals horses, sheeps, cows. Wild animals and birds like golden eagles, jerboa, partridge and etc.
This two directions we can combine in two days tour with hiking.
First day start at 7am and drive to the Turgen gorge. See the monument of the Golden Man with snow leopard. Then leave the car and way to the Waterfall Kairak. It takes near of 6 hours of hiking. It's comfortable walking through the unique forest along of Turgen river. Finally of hiking you will see the waterfall Buzkol( Kairak). The high of it 50 m. Then way back to the car. Drive to the trough farm, fishing and dinner. Over night in homestay in Turgen gorge.
Second day starts at 8am and arrive to Charyn canyon aria. It takes near of 2 hours to get to the canyon. The half part of the way is Comfortable highway and asphalt road. Then walking through the canyon 2 km in one direction. Possible to organise a picnic near of the river or have a hot lunch in Uighurs cafe on the way to the Almaty.
Back to Almaty at 6-7 pm.
