Gobi Desert Dinosaur trail tour trip

Day 1. Dalanzadgad in the Gobi Desert

Fly from Ulaanbaatar to Dalanzadgad, the capital of South Gobi Province in the heart of the Gobi Desert. and head across the desert to Yolyn Am Canyon, a dramatic gorge, and oasis for wildlife. Hike through the gorge, as we search for ibex and bearded vultures. Drive west across the desert to Hongoryn Els, an area of towering sand dunes. (L,D)

Day 2. Hongoryn Els Sand Dunes

Spend the day exploring the beauty and culture of Hongoryn Els. Hike on the shifting mountains of sand, meet a nomadic family and ride camels in the dunes’ shadows. Explore the rich spring-fed grassland at the base of the dunes. Helping to the family and experiencing with nomad life.(B,L,D)

Day 3. Flaming Cliffs

After breakfast drive to the next destination which is the Khavtsgait rock painting,which is located on the top of the mountain.Explore some of the highlights of the Gobi.Then, search for dinosaur fossils at the red sandstone Flaming Cliffs, the site of the world's first discovery of dinosaur eggs. Next, visit a forest of saxaul, an unusual desert tree whose gnarled trunks form natural artworks. Lastly, climb a rocky outcrop to reach the Khavsgait Petroglyphs, the Gobi's best-preserved collection of prehistoric artwork, before returning to your resort for the evening. (B,L,D)

Day 4. Ongi monastery

Today we undertake the longest drive of the trip to the Ongi monastery, but the scenery is so spectacular that the eight hours is sure to pass quickly, especially as it is interspersed with plenty of stops.We will hike to the ruins for visiting to local ger museum displayed survived objects of destroyed monastery and a small lovely and active Buddhist temple. Day 5. Karakorum Khans and Lamas

Make your way to the small town of Karakorum in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Orkhon Valley. Karakorum was the site of Karako-rum, the 13th century capital of the Mongolian Empire. Visit Mongolia’s oldest monastery, 16th century Erdene Zuu, home to some of the nation’s most profound art and architecture.  (B,L,D)

 Day 6. Wild Horses of Hustai

Travel east to Hustai National Park, the site of the world’s last wild horses. Join a park ranger to view the Przewalski’s horses, formerly extinct from the wild, but reintroduced to Hustai by an international conservation effort in the 1990s. Spend the night at a ger camp. (B,L,D)

 Day 7. Ulaanbaatar

 

Drive back to UB .You may want to do some shopping-cashmere and State Department Store. Leisure time in the afternoon. In the evening attend a performance by the renowned Tumen Ekh Ensemble, featuring throat singing, contortionism, and folk dancing, followed by a farewell dinner. (B,L,D)

For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
