Kel-Suu Winter Expedition

Discover the frozen treasures of Kyrgyzstan! Join our winter expedition to Kel Suu, one of the wildest places in Kyrgyzstan. We will observe wild fauna and experience the life of the Kyrgyz shepherds. A real experience of a lifetime.
Day 1 Saturday 21/03: Bishkek - Tash Rabat
We leave Bishkek at 7.00 am and drive through amazing landscapes and mountain passes.
Lunch in Naryn, where we get our border permits and buy everything we need at the bazaar.
Drive to Tash Rabat, visit of the 15th-century caravanserai and night in the house of Tursun, the keys keeper of the caravanserai.
Day 2 Saturday 22/03: Tash Rabat - Kel Suu
We leave Tash Rabat in the morning and drive to Kel Suu glacial lake at 3500m. The road is tough but worth to drive it.
We arrive at Kel Suu in the early afternoon, have lunch and build our yurt with the help of the local shepherds.
We discover the place, go for light hiking, have dinner and spend the night in the yurt.
NOTE: Yurt will be heated permanently and equipped with proper beds.
Day 3 & 4 23-24/03 : Exploration at Kel Suu
We explore the area, search for sheep, ibex, wolves and bears. Wildlife is very active in winter in this region, as most of the people are down in the valleys.
The lake of Kel Suu will be totally frozen with a 2m thick ice, we will go walking on the frozen lake.
We participate to the shepherds’ activities with the yaks and horses.
Day 5 Wednesday 24/03: Kel Suu - Bishkek
It is time for us to leave Kel Suu. We unbuild the yurt and clean the area.
Lunch in Naryn on the way back.
We drop you at your residence in Bishkek, after this unforgettable trip.
