Day 1: Dushanbe - Gissar – Dushanbe
Arrival in Dushanbe. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Sights of the capital and the largest city of Tajikistan. The excursion will begin with a visit to the National Museum, the exposition of which will acquaint you with the history and art of Tajikistan. It is here that the famous statue "Buddha in Nirvana" is kept - the most famous and valuable exhibit of the museum. Further you will go to the Botanical garden, where century-old trees grow, and then in the local market. Departure to the country (30 km) on the inspection of the Gissar fortress of the 18th century. Visiting two local madrassas and a mausoleum. Return to Dushanbe. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe - Istaravshan – Khujand
In the morning transfer to Khujand (300 km, 5-6 hours) through the Anzoba tunnel. Lunch in the local teahouse. After lunch, passing through the tunnel of Shahristan with a stop in Istaravshan. Visit to the local market. Further study of the architectural complex Hazrati Shokh, consisting of the mausoleum of Hazrati Shokh, the mass graves of Kusam Ibn Abbas, the mausoleum of Khudoyar Valami and Namazgah mosque (XIX century). After you go to Mug-Tepp, one of the oldest settlements in Istaravshan. Arrival in Khujand. Free time. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Khujand
In the morning - tour of Khujand. Visit to the Archaeological Museum, Sheikh Muslikhiddin Mosque, the largest in Tajikistan on the market named "Payshanba", Arbob Palace (20th century), as well as the symbol of friendship of peoples - Kairakkum hydroelectric power station, "Tajik Sea". Free time. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Khujand – Penjikent
After breakfast transfer to Penjikent (260 km, 5-6 hours), accommodation at the hotel. Meet the guide and start the tour of the local attractions. You visit the Museum of Rudaki - the famous poet who was born in Penjikent. Then you will go to ancient Penjikent, where you will see the ruined ruins of Sogdian city (5th century). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Penjikent - Iskanderkul – Dushanbe
Drive to Iskanderkul. Lake Iskanderkul was named after Alexander the Great, which was named in the east by Iskander. According to the well-known legend, Alexander the Great visited here the road from Central Asia to India. Arrival in Dushanbe. Hotel accommodation.
Day 6: Airport transfer.
For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.
Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
